What do you think of´the R7?

-What is your opinion of the R7 compared to the R1?

-Has anyone ridden both the 2002 R1 and the R7?

I have an R7 and have never ridden an R1 so I'm interested in the difference. :p

Hi!

Nice to get some response!
Should have bought an R1 instead to get to speak on this great forum!

It's a street bike which hasn't yet been modified for fullpower (only small modifications on throttle and front sprocket by previous owner). Sorry but the price (a lot less than new) remains a secret but it was pretty good considering the high price a new bike costs.

The handling is really great but the suspension is a little bit on the hard side for street use and the fuel injection is a little bit snatchy on/off throttle. I'll work on that.
The brakes are the same as on the R1, good but not exceptional. In time I will probably change them.

Do you have an R1? I was thinking of buying an R1 before I heard of the R7 bike.

I have a 2001 Red/Black R1........
I'm very happy with it.....can't even come close to pushing it to its limits on the street, so the R7 wouldn't do me much good except for the shock value of owning one.
Since yours is the street model, it is limited to only firing 1 injector per cylinder on the street correct?
I can't remember, but I think the came rated at 105hp for the street and unrestricted at 150 correct?

HP

For sure the R7 is best suited for the track. I will attend at least two trackdays this year (hopefully more) to see what the bike and i can do on a track.

On the street I guess your better off with an R1 but I like the "no compromise design" of the R7.

There's not much information available about the R7 but yes I've also heard that in stock trim only one injector fires and poweroutput is 105-106 HP while you can get 150 HP derestricted.

Of course there's more to come with some mo money!

That R1 engine must be "scary"?

Dank, Cool there won't be that manu with that color!

Solo, Your bike looks great! A friend of mine has had the same "Haga" design on his bike once. My R7 has a high throttle set and front 16 t. sprocket.

ny2nj, yeah that bike simply:jump rocks. As you can see it's a Yamaha France Endurance bike. With all the goodies I want to have! One more pic!

R1/R7

Wel "JIM2001R1" that text is not written by me, before it said "My R1 beats me". It must be Swedies standard text? (Nice forum Swedie!) But I don't mind having an R1 too (only my wallet do!).

Yeah I will at least install the basic kit as soon as I can afford. I don't want to mess up reliability though!

But I would really want an R1 powered R7 bike. That would be the ultimate bike! Make Yamaha build one!
What do you think?
