Just your thoughts, which way do you think they will take the new R1? I know its hard to talk about now since the O4 just came out. I have an 02 and wasnt in the right position to obtain the 04 so i figured i would wait for a few years until they change it again.......Question is which way do you think they will flow with it next time. Lighten it more? More power? both? Your thoughts guys......?

In 2010, I'll probably just buy a 600, since it will make 140 horses at 20k rpm, will only be 5 feet long, and only weigh 200#.

A comparable R1 would be like having 10 young hotties in bed at the same time. Sometimes a guy just can't run wide open for that long without having a stroke.

Thanks guys its just interesting how far bikes have come......My first street bike was a kawi 900 ninja. It was awsome to me back then. Now the bikes just handle so much better and are so much lighter with soo much more power. Scary to think of 190 to 195 hp at the crank or rear wheel for that matter but we are almost there as far as being able to go to the dealer and buy one right out of the box with that kind of power. I think in essence it really does get to the point where its over kill......To many cars so little room........

Good point and im sure you arent the only one that has complained about the heat issue so as far as that goes there is room for improvement. I think over all yamaha has the knowledge when it comes to building the perfect bike. The are top knotch as far as quality. Im definitely staying with them for the future. Its the little things that set them apart from the others. Out right performance.........who really cares........Its how its deliverd that matters and what your senses tell you in route to your final destination......Damn this thing feels good

I don't care about total horsepower, I just want them to fix the heat issue. I don't want a refinded ball-cooker; they have to fix that in the 05 or the 06. Don't get me wrong, I won't get rid of my '04, but since we're talking future features...a man can ask.
hope that the heat sink will be improvised...
Maybe a carbon fibre pipe will keep a bit of the temp slightly lower? correct me if i am wrong...
