Can i turn off the headlights so if I'm at a meet I can run the bike with out my headlights on?

Thinking about getting angel eyes. do they come with a switch to turn off the headlights and just run the eyes.

*****Before the flames come I'm only want the lights off so if I'm at a meet or a parking lot of the sort. I will not ride with my lights off on the street*****

You can run a switch fm the light fuse.

whats a good switch and does it mount to handle bars

You can pick up a decent switch fm Wal-Mart or local auto part store. I run the wire on the left side fairing and use double mount tape the switch to the left side of the ignition switch.

This would be a cool switch to use. MPS Switch mounts to you clipon. Might be a some overkill, but looks nice.

1.... running such a setup is illegal on the road...
2.... you might have to run several switches, as the running lights headlights and taillights are I belive seperate cuircuits.... (could have the same fuse of course... I have not checked a schematic)

same circuit. but you need/should run through a relay. i don't know of a good quality switch that can handle the amperage of both 55w headlights.

currently, my HIDs (low beam) are switch activated and I only use them at night. repeated cycles (on/off) from starting the bike will kill the HID bulbs. During the day I use HIgh beam only and can be on/off via the Oem High beam/low beam switch.

How are your HIDs switch activated, I want to do this but like said I don't think the switch is enough to handle the wattage when turning them on and off.

I was thinking since the main power still comes from the OEM harness is it possible to wire a switch there? on the ground or power wire?

I really wanna do this since i don't want my HIDs on during the day.

i made a control panel that operates my headlights, taillights, and angel eyes individually, separate from each other and everything else. i took the lead from the headlight circuit before the toggle switch and ran it to my box, splitting it to create an LED illuminator *red/off green/on* and a small toggle. same with the taillights, and the angel eyes has its own circuit wired from the battery. i never put it on, bc. i couldn't find a good place to mount it but i'm still working on eyes.

and yes, this is illegal, but so are wheelies, but without the headlight, they can't see you.

one thing I might suggest is if your a daily rider, or might get accidentally caught in the rain, to buy marine switches or whatever ones are specifically waterproof. When I had angel eyes, whenever I washed the bike, the angel eyes would glow because the water would link the hots.

use non-conductive silicone, availible anywhere.
