Help!

I'm nearing the final stages of moving from Scotland to Oz.

Does anyone have any pics or info on the above towns?

Want to live somewhere that's good for my two young kids and also where i can take bike out for decent runs and track days at PI.

Steve.

mate, as we siad over on the other site, u want to be the other side of town if u wanna do some riding, Philip Island is south east and allthe good roads are south, east or north, those places are out west and last time i checked there are not really any decent riding roads bar the great ocean road for quite a way.

I been staying in Berwick for the past4.5 years and its a great place. There are a number of good schools in the area. It's far enough from the city to be tranquil and near enough so that you can hop on the Freeway and be there within 35 minutes (depending on traffic).
There are a number of good roads in the the near vicinity (I often pop out for a quick 45 minute buzz.) and Phillip Island is a mere hour down the road.
(I'm an immigrant myself and have been in Aus for 5 years now.)

PM me if you'd like me to take some pics and provide you with more information.

Cheers
Tony

you should move to Ballarat the weather is a lot like scotland and the roads are hardcore none of these smooth racetrack like roads up here , instead we have potholes ,kangaroos by the millions and lots of trucks ,wandering cattle , blind farmers and an extremely slow ambulance service but if you want to be soft then go ahead and live in a melbourne suburb like the other"s :lol :butt

For others to give a good reply to you ,you may want to give a bit more detail. Like what are your needs, your family"s needs. Do you want a rural, semi rural, city living.Do you want to be near shops(type of shopping you prefer). Are you looking at buying a house or renting 1st, (good place to look at for buy or renting is http://www.realestate.com.au/cgi-bin/rsearch?a=sf&s=vic&t=ren&snf=rbs ).Is it your work why you have selected Victoria,is there other choice"s for where you want to live. Im guessing your asked on a few forums and gotten diffrent answers (but if people say stay away from a certian area Id stay away) there is obviously a good reason.

I hope you find a nice place and like it here

Hi all.

Thanks for all replies.

Been offered a new job in UK that i can't turn down so we've decided to wait another year before deciding whether to move or not.

We figure that after our visa comes through we can afford to come out for a holiday and look at some places for ourselves.

Thanks again.

Steve.
