You don't have to speak English to look at the final lap times. I realize that the motogp bikes are on a wet surface but that's not going to make a 20 second lap time difference.

This question can be relative. A car, even a modest sports car, is a lot easier to ride at the limit of traction and thus speed around corners. Anyone w/ moderate driving skills can slide a Audi TT or Nissan 350z (or whatever sports car) around corners going near the car's capacity. With a bike - most riders (who spend little or no track time) cannot push a bike to it's limit - see youtube videos of S-loads of crashes for guys trying. A bike has waaay higher HP/weight ratio so it's much quicker up to speed vs regular cars (and slowing down for that matter due to light weight) but 4 wheels on the ground for cornering gives more grip. F1 cars are much faster than GP bikes on the same tracks.

I agree with that all the way and I guess the debate can go on forever about which is better at the track with the exclusion of the F1 cars which are in a league of their own.

That guy's a wanker. How about we try the same test with an updated version.....for having four wheels, he didn't win by much.

its true, if they are set up right they can. but once they hit full speed they would fall. for the answer a corvette z06 can hold more speed than a GP bike in and threw a corner, so alot of full out road race car will stomp it around a corner but the bike will catch up. a GP bike isnt even a good race for a formula 1 car. i go to mid ohio and indy every year and have seen both. not even close.

I've been curious for a while about what corners better a high performance car or a high performance sportbike. Or is it just about if the rider is as good as the driver. Heres a video on youtube that tried to answer the question.

That video was rigged. Jeremy Clarkson hates bikes and regularly states this in the UK press.

This is more acurate

In the real world i'd put money on the car, the driver has less to lose. You'd need to be testicularly well endowed on a bike against a well driven car.

I think this video is a little bit more accurate than the first I remember that guy saying something in the video that he woulldnt ride a bike cause he was hetrosexual. That guy is a wanker. I think he was full of shit. I have seen articles about this aswell and the bikes almost always come out on top but there is cars out there that can beat them the F1 vid is proof

F1 cars are fing insane. You ever just sit and watch them accelurate. Its like the tv is on fast forward.

exactly what I think everytime I watch them.

I have been racing cars since I was 8 and I am now 23. I began racing quarter midgets and moved to full sized sprint cars at the age of 13. I've ran with Hooters Pro Cup Series, ASA, World of Outlaws, and USAC midget and sprint car stuff. I've always asked myself which corners better, a bike or car? Well I think it comes down to the type of corner and type of car. No car compares to bikes until you reach the high performance type such as a Ferrari Enzo and Porsche GT. F1 car is a class all on its own.

Depends what you call a car. A stock bike will ass rape any usual stock car, including 911 turbo, Ferrari, vette etc etc...... Remember the test kevin Schwantz did in 2002. Took a mod Corvette with dot tires and he beat all the pro times from the SCCA, then took a stock GSXR 1000 and he easely beat his vette times. You couldn't say "yeah but if it was a pro in the car" because he beat all these pros!!

And this Tuning Magazine who tried to beat Doug Chandler on a stock ZX10 with a 800hp track ready Skyline.....they failed...

Now if you call an GTP or a F1 a car........ Look more like a weird 100 millions things with 4 wheels than a car IMO. LMAO!!!

If you look at most track records, the top car time is always faster than the top bike time. Depends on the track obviously but it's usually a 2+ second difference.

This is a debate that can go on forever.

It can depend very much on the track aswell as anything else.
Yup, it does depend on the track quite alot.

If you take the FIA GT Car series and the MotoGp series, their lap times at Mugello are: -

Car - CLK MERCEDES 1.45,013

Bike - Biaggi/Honda - 1.50,117

Interestingly, whilst the MotoGp bikes can't compete with F1 on lap times, at all the tracks that both series race at (bar Turkey), the bikes achieve a higher top speed.
