52yrs. old, clean record/no accidents, Michigan, $1100/yr. w/Proggressive, this was the best I could find, after shopping around.
My Allstate agent, who I have my truck & home thru, and been with for 17yrs., said they were no longer writing policies for 1000cc Sportbikes. And even my 600 at the time (2002) had to be requoted (at an increased rate) ($800+ for a YZF600R).
My friend the Sales Manager at the dealership where I bought my last 2 bikes, told me Michigan insurance rates have really affected liter bike sales. He said its not uncommon to see insurance rates of $2500-$3500 a year any more.
My 1st year with my 02 Insurance was $1900 . . .
My 2nd. year with my 02 Insurance was $1500 . . .
This year with my 02 Insurance was $1100 . . .
I guess this is one of the reasons it frustrates me to see teenagers getting a Liter Class Sportbike, as a first bike :no
