What do you think about the new FZ1?

I was thinking.....

the new FZ1 looks great IMO, It has the 2004 R1 motor, 2003 R1 front end, nice frame, it's new, it's more functional for everyday use, comfy, cheeper then new R1.

I don't have money for new R1. (I can get a great trade for the FZ1)

I am tired of risking my self on public roads, since we dont have race tracks here. (when I look at my R1 all I want is to attack the twisties. It is really hard to keep it slow, as your getting better and better and your riding skills are getting better)

plus, I rode the last years FZ1 few times and it has some great sporty ability. and it is hard to get to the limits of this bike as well.

would you trade an 03 R1 with the new FZ1? (new bike, new tires, new brakes.....haaaa...the smell of a new bike)

Would you do that?

Probably a great bike, but I don't like the styling.

"DAMN" Suzuki for starting this trend toward ugly pipes! That's worse than the K5 GSXR 1000's! I like the R6's, but that's just bad!

I went from a ZX9R to my FZ1 and I just don't think I can go back to anything with a seating position like that. The FZ1 is meant to be ridden all day with no worries about getting sore.......especially is you have a woman on back.

If the '06 can be 40lbs lighter and have 10-15 more horse, I buying a new one. The '01-'05 FZ1 is almost 525lbs wet!!

I have a black 04 Fizzer and love it for daily traffic domination.
The 05 and previous years have conventional front ends and will become a flexi flier when you start flogging it.
Even with a fork brace and suspension tuning they will not come close to an R1.
If the 06s are substantially lighter that the previous years then Ill be geting one.
If not. The previous years have plenty of potential for horsepower upgrades and Ill be looking for an 06FZ front end if its long enough.
As a conventional, affordable, easily insured, less hassled, daily all around thrasher/streetfighter/and long distance cruiser. I feel the Fizzer is unrivaled.
Im happy with mine and its really fun when you strafe some sportbikes with a cruiser.

I think the FZ1 will get you into just as much trouble as your '03 R1. If you have changed your riding habits to a more relaxed mode then you might want to go for it. Otherwise, if you still love to hit the twisties, then I would keep the R1.

I had an '01 FZ1 for almost three years and loved it except for the weight. Power was more than adequate, but the weight of the bike was a bit much for the suspension. If it is lighter with upgraded suspension it will be a darned near perfect bike.

the new FZ1 looks hot and with the R1 engine only adds to the flavor. If you're looking for a more comfortable ride with tons of power, then i'm sure the FZ1 will be plenty. To me, that's basically the only difference between that and your R1... the FZ1 has a more comfortable ride and with the rear seat cover and underbody cover i'm sure that bike will look even hotter :rock

I didn't like the '04's suspension at all. It also seemed like it's center of gravity was up too high. I traded for the '04 R1 afte only 2500 miles, and I've never looked back:) Besides, the Triumph Speed Triple is the ONLY naked bike (except for the new Beemer that costs a fortune) that's worth buying right now:yesnod

Ha! funnt that your talked about the new K1200R.

A short ride on this beast made think about that whole thing.

This is simply the best bike I have ever ridden in my life.

THe handling, power, brakes and comfy are all better then my R1.

After this short ride, I rode my R1 and for a moment I thought that my tires PSI are too low. :lol

Damn....If this bike wasnt too $$$$$$$$ , I had it in my garage now.

THe looks....well your getting use to it after a short ride.

EVERYONE!!! GO and test ride this beast. K1200R
