What is the HP of a stock 2006 R1, just an average at the rear wheel.
Thanks:fork :hellobye

roughly 121rwhp....lots of power loss due to undertail exhausts!! Oh yeah, better swap in a belt drive for big hp gains!

post a pic...this is appearance and mods section!

sarcasm?

I'm pretty sure that the average is around 150rwhp...I may stand corrected but I believe this number to be a bit ficticious as you will pick up some more ponies as you increase speed due to ram-air.

I think a number of forum members have achieved just shy of 150rwhp with their 04-06 R1's.

Thanks Pilot Pete, I was just wondering because I just had some mods put on, and DYNO tuned my bike before and after and the sheet is showing 140 before and 143 after? Maybe there dyno sucks I know there are all kinds out there? Could it have something to do with being under 500miles and not fully broken in?
THanks

Dynos are very subjective but you should have gotten more than 3 HP from baseline after those mods. FWIW, my '05 dynoed 154.4 stock on a Dynojet 250. You could probably gain more from a better map. Contact Eric at EDR Performance (edrperformance.com), they're in Beaverton. It would definitely be worth the drive to have it done right. :thumbup

It was at the local Yamaha shop? I guess that was my first mistake, Mods are as follows: Graves Velocity stacks, BMC Race filter, PC3usb, Graves Titanium Oval slip-ons with "y" pipe and a Graves map. But just the fact that the stock DYNO run came in at 140 should say something!
I guess I will have try some other maps.

Post the chart if you don't mind. It would be interesting to see.. Everyone that I've seen with a slip on still had the midrange dip. It shouldn't be as bad with your stacks but I think it will still show. I think that most bikes with slip ons dyno in the 155-158 area, but the type of dyno, correction factor, and weather and altitude all make a difference. Don't get caught up in the numbers, just get the bike running good. Have fun and get it broken in good and power should go up some.

Crank HP and wheel ( BHP ) are different in that wheel or BHP takes into account all the power lost in the transfer of recip. energy to rotation energy avail. at your rear tyre. The only Jap bikes that are ture to claimed crank HP seem to be Suzuki. If you get more than 140 ponies from a standard R1 your either dreaming, been smoking an illegal susbstance or the Dyno needs calibration.

I have my '05 R1 weighing in at 148 kgs dry and outs out a true 198BHP ! o - 60 takes about 1.7 seconds but as for the cost verses can you use it on the road factor I would say leave your bike stock !

Top speed to date, 327.

why are you posting in CAPITALS? it seems like you are yelling...

Oh yeah...and 327km/hr? good luck! I seen those speeds while flying, not quite when riding. Do you have vid/pic to prove these claims?

if he is putting down his claimed HP at the wheel 203 MPH is not unreasonable... I mean these bikes do around 180 MPH stock right? I have done an indicated 177 (probably closer to 167) on mine and it was still pulling, and that is with no performance enhacing mods...

If we assume that his bike is really up 58HP at the wheel, picking up 20 or so MPH is not horribly unreasonable...

is it smart?... well that is another story.

WHY HAVE YOU SPENT SO MUCH ON FRUIT, COULD HAVE SPENT IT BETTER FOR PERFORMANCE ! WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO UPDATE, YOUR BIKE NOT WORTH SELLING ??????
Does this even qualify as English? Stupid people are like slinkys, no matter how usless they are , they can still put a smile on your face when you throw them down the stairs.

top speed gain and hp increases are not a linear relationship....so yes, it is unreasonable. And given the fact that after I posted I went to do a top speed run to verify my thoughts, I confirmed today that given stock gearing, you would have to re-gear in order to achieve those speeds as 300km/hr or 180mph is pretty much at the rev limiter in 6th.

was it smart? well, that's another story. (and we won't get into that b/c we haven't discussed where this experiment was performed - understand?)

Pete, trust me 327 klm is not just claimed and I have been on a STOCK 2006 R1 that reads 299 on the speedo.

If you read carefully my R1 ( 2005 model ) does 0-60 mph ( 0-100kph ) in 1.7 secs. This is NOT achieavable with standard gearing nor is the top speed. I guess it's what you understand and what you spend your money on, looks or the goods.

Oh, for the record, the fatest R1 we have round here has pulled a proved 344 klm !

However I must say this bike, like mine, is not the easiest to ride around the streets and launch control takes on another meaning. If you think the standard gearing is high you should try some others out there.

Flying, what do you fly ??? Guess you wont believe I have done Mach 2 at 60,000 feet either !

another fighter pilot on board...I have many friends in the cdn forces training and in the ROTP right now. what I fly? I fly a DHC-2 with a PT6A swapped in on amphibs...I'm only 23 so I thought this was a great start for me!

I just found 327 a bit unbelievable b/c my speedo and many others don't read above 299...tach still climbs but that's about it. whatever your bike can do is whatever your bike can do! I know mine is going on another dyno on the 8th coming up to have some up-to-date figures.

here is the other problem, everyone knows that when you mess with the gearing in the way you descibe, for example your 0-60 time of 1.whatever seconds to achieve very quick acceleration that you have to add teeth to the rear and or take away teeth in the front. Yes this gives you very fast accel off the line BUT it also takes away from your top speed, and i'm sorry but no mods can short of a jet engine can counter the effect of re-graring your sprockets. In my 04 with stock gearing 17/45 and with "fruit"
:bash performance mods i have gained 7 HP over stock and have only hit 189PH before the rev limiter. If i had messed with my sprockets to get the kind of accelleration your talking about, not even NOS could get me to 203mph, which is what you are claiming. :finger BTW bike top speeds are always inaccurate, so unless you were radared with a gun or something it was more like 190mph or 304 kph

w3rd! Show me tha Monay!! 0-60 in 1.7...I'm sorry but it just isn't plausible. I'magonna make a call to myth busters!
