Easiest way to determine what they are made of, is to weigh them, there should be significant difference in weight between Mag & Alum, check the website for appropriate weights of each.

What 520 conversion did you go with for the Marchesini's? Did you get a rear sprocket with wheels?

 

I think you cant anodize magnesium.....not sure though.

 

Magnesium = NO ANODIZE

ARGH! I got a call today from Chris at indysuperbikes.com with the news that my wheels were sent by mistake. This is quite some :bs here. Apparently they sent the wrong wheels from Italy and I already mounted them on my bike. No way im paying the difference. Too much $$$.

Wow . . . thats like an $800.00 screw-up (difference between mag & alum). Good luck straightening that out.

Still waiting on my Forged Alum 10 spokes from Dan Kyle. Talked to them yesterday, still no word on mine, been over 6 weeks. Marchesini is slow to respond. Have gotten several follow-up emails & phone calls from Dan & his staff, the problem is with Marchesini not Kyle Racing.

All I can say is im sorry for them that this has happened and I hope anyone interested in new wheels will see indysuperbikes. You can see how fast I got mine, 3 1/2 weeks. I will bring my digi cam home from work tomorrow and post some pics. OMFG they look good.

The wait is killing me

The saga continues . . . spoke with Alex at Kyle Racing again yesterday, still no word on ETA of wheels, and the latest is Marchesini closes their factory for a month long vacation, tentatively Aug. 1st. So this could possibly lead to another 6-8 week delay, which would bring the lead time out to 14-16 weeks.

Good news is I got new sprockets (AFAM) & DID 520ERV2 chain, but can't install until wheels arrive.

This is a Marchesini issue not Dan Kyle Racing, in fact they recomended I reconsider other wheels, but I had my heart set on the Marchesini's, and I know I won't be as happy with others. Hope they arrive before the riding season is over in Michigan

 

That sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!A Month vacation, Come on! I want my friggin' wheels.
