What rods do I need for a quickshifter w/ Gilles Rearsets?

I've been searching and I've even called a few places and I cannot get a definitive answer to save my life. So now I turn to the gods of the forum. I have a 2008 R1 with Gilles VCR Rearsets. The rearsets change the position of the shifter and rod compared to the OEM unit. The Gilles shift rod has female receiving ends and is about 8 5/8 inches long. I plan on running standard shift so I need a push type quickshifter module. Please help me figure out what rods I need to order. I've attached a picture below for reference.

I bought mine with all three of the rods and had to cut 2 notches out of it to get it at the perfect length. It really depends how far back and up u have yours. The rods have these very deep slits in them to make cutting them in perfect length easy.

Thanks I really appreciate that. I'm just going to run a regular pull type Power Commander quickshifter. How do you like the HM quickshifter? Also are you running factory or GP shift? It looks like you're running the stock Gilles shift rod, you just have the adapter pivot just a lot higher than I do on my bike. Looks good!!

love the hm q/s but i also have a push type dynojet on my hypermotard it works pretty good as well...it is a shorter link than stock but you will need a shorter one than mine due to the extra length of the dynojet sensor let me get to my shop today and ill measure what rod you would need by measuring the sensor on my hyper and imagine if it was on the giles rearsets...which sensor are you getting/have..pc3 or v? and mine is standard shift btw..

I was planning on running it with a PC3 shift module. I'm starting to second guess what I thought. Is your standard shift using a push or pull type sensor?

@blk jdm....i did some measurements and stock giles rod is around 8 1/4 inches the one i ordered from hm was approx 6.5 inches. now my dynojet sensor where i have adjusted now is almost 7 inches...so u might need a really short rod or you can tap into shift arm and attach somewhere else..like i had to do on my hyper...
Thanks a million for all the info and help!!! Kudos

You should check out the HM qs. They are slick as snot and work with standard or gp shift. The shift rod length is really dependent on which qs you get. ProBolt has anodized rods in pretty much any length you would need. Just measure the length of the sensor/switch and order a rod that will make it the same length. Give Brad at Super Bike Supply a call and ask about the HM RL lite qs. You won't be sorry.

I'll be giving Brad @ SuperBikeSupply a call tomorrow. I thought I had it all figured out. Now I might be switching it up. Thanks for the info.

@blk jdm yes my dynojet q/s is a linear push type for pc 3...the hm shifter is a stand alone unit and plugs directly near coils..that is what is on my r1..the dynojet linear is on my ducati hypermotard and plugs directly into pc3...hope that clears things up...
