Whats the cost of Gas in the US at the mo?. In the uk its taking the p***. It would work out to around $9.00 a gallon, would you guys pay that or would there be big demo`s:saw:
I would add that we have the highest tax on fuel in europe too!. Don`t you just love the government!!!!!:butt

The US economy isn't setup for $3 a gallon much less $5 per gallon. In the UK, 80% of the cost of your fuel is taxes, and that's not the case in the US. The are saying gas will hit $4 per gallon now, which will put the US into a recession at the very least. The high price of fuel is all speculation, meaning there is no other reason for high fuel prices other than traders trying to drain your wallet. I guess we all need to get hybrids now in order to combat the high cost of fuel. That day is coming.

My goodness why is it sooooo damned hard to get people to see this? It's nothing more than speculation and they don't even try to hide it.

They "predict" that people will need more fuel for a season so they make bets. They never lose so they simply speculate another price and come up with a reason for the speculation. Prior to Katrina prices were half what they are now. Then they bumped the prices up in anticipation of the storm. After the storm they bumped them in anticipation of shortage. Then they bumped them again in anticipation of...........................( insert good reason to make some more money here. ) The funniest part is that they price never goes down to the prior level and the speculation is always speculation.

The same thing happened with housing being bought by flippers and loans financed by non financial entity's looking to make a quick buck. It's easy money in the beginning but in the end somebody is gonna be stuck holding a bag of crap.

The question these people need to be asking is "At what price profit?" What good will it do to be a gazillionaire if the gazillion that you have is in Lira and not gold.

Paying just under $3.50 in SW Florida. Prices are rising so fast I can't keep track. The bike is the least expensive mode of transportation I own and I'm debating dumping my daily driver Evo for a Honda Civic! Yeah, it's that bad and it's only going to get worse.

Im in the same boat....i thought it was a breather when it only took $40+ to fill up my Evo, instead of closer to 45-50. I dunno if that's enough to get rid of it cuz i love my car, but it crossed my mind. My ONE might have to step up to task...8 bones to fill :jump

Good thing my Ranger can use E85!!! :crash
If you're ranger is anything like my ram you're getting screwed. The mileage doesn't make it worthwhile. It should be a 10-15% reduction but in reality I see 10mpg e85 @ 2.69 here or 14.6mpg @ 2.97.

I paid 3.93 at the Chevron right off of Civic. With the gas prices continuing to rise it just gives me an excuse to go an get that 848:rock

The Canadian government put a cap on gas prices last year. It was $1.30 IIRC.

It pissed off a few people but after a while the suppliers were pressured into lowering the prices because nobody would buy for a loss.

Just goes to show that the "price" doesn't have anything to do with the cost.

In Canada the poor provinces pay more and the better ones pay less....
is that the opposite in the US?

...cuz Canada and Mexico are really the primary suppliers of US oil. The Middle East doesn't even break 5% of all oil used by us. We are stealing very little in fact.

BTW, that E85 shit is such a bullcrap way of "getting around" the problem. Had a university vehicle the other day, went to Des Moines and back in one day...used 3/4ths of a tank...200 miles. Driving a V6 Impala (POS by the way) with about a thousand miles on it. Computer was saying on the highway at 72 mph...I was getting...ready for this shit...20 mpg. Holy hell, i've driven trucks wiht 5.7 litre motors in them that get better mileage on the highway. 14 in town for that 6 as well. What a fuggn joke.

What ever the pricing, feels good when your primary transportation is 2 wheeled. aaaahhhhhh $14.50, (91oct) tank full, good for a week and a half worth of work commutes and a fun run thrown in.

...cept new tires counter that cost...not to mention other maintenance to high performance vehicles.
