hey all need some advice, what is they best tire in your opinions to use for hard street use but hardly ever sees track, well not yet? and can you get a 200 on the rear of the 01 R1 or stick with the 190. and i want to get at least some wear out of them. i have the dunlop d207's now was thinking metzler mz1 (think thats right) or d208 from dunlop. help me out guys.

I too have the 2001, I still think we have the coolest looking R1 ever made
Anyway, I had the Dunlop 207's and I hated them because they were Dunlops. Dunlops do something called cupping, that is they wear a depression in the center of the tire, I only got 5000 miles out of my 207's because they cupped, I am now riding the Michelin Pilot Sports and they are awesome!!!! Now, the size, the 200 will fit and would look cool as hell but it will reduce your handling and make it pretty poor. I am running 190's and it too looks cool as hell and I have no problem with the handling, you could run 180's just like the pro racers but it doesnt look as cool but you could corner like a crazyman. I have guys pull up next to me all the time and ask me what size tire I am running cause when you are behind me all you see is tire and it is pretty impressive. Hope this helps. By the way, what color is your bike?? You know the red one is faster than the blue one right?:thumbup Also how long have you been riding and have you owned any bikes other than your R1?
