Whats so bad about GSXR's?

I am well aware of the lack of respect GSXR riders get in general. But really why??? Yes of course you will see some squid being a A-hole racing around town shirtless on a GSXR but then again i see that on R1's, Harley's, CBR's etc...

I just think its not fair for the guy who is a respectable rider to get thrown into that category without doing anything to deserve it? Im really against profiling in any shape or form and sports bikes are not a exception.

I got a chance to ride my buddy's 2009 GSXR 750 today and i have to say i was impressed! the bike feels like a liter bike but handles like a 600! it looks good and is comfortable! So ill just go ahead and say it! I LIKE GSXR 750's!!!

Im very much in love with my R1 but i just HAD to show some love to Suzuki for making a wonderful piece of machinery!....

Was his gsxr standard, cause i must admit, i took the new gsxr 750 2011 out for a test run, they had the launch here at red star raceway, one of our local tracks, and yes great bike cause it was narrow and light and felt like i could really throw it around, but the whole time i was opening up the throttle and just kept waiting for something to happen. There is just no way i could honestly say it felt like a liter bike in any way.
That's just my 2 cents worth.

Yes it was stock he just got it not to long ago, and yes of course you can tell that there is 250 less CC's in the motor but its not that bad and feels more like a liter bike then it does a 600cc bike IMO... i still think the best size motor for a i4 sportbike is 800-900cc i just dont understand why its limited to 600 or 1000cc :dundun:

The reason why is that the brand is the preferred weapon of choice for squids, nothing against the brand; they actually do make good motorcycles.

GSXR makes a hell of a nice sportbike and its rather more comfy than the R1, and its rumored it has always been slightly more strong in the motor than the R1 again.

Tons of people ride the Gixxer because of the looks and outright power.

Before my R1 I was looking for a GSXR to up grade from my Katana, I don't know what happen the dealer ship had an 05 R1 in the show room.....love at first site :makeout if i get a second bike it will be a GSXR but ill still have the R1 too of course

suzukis seem to be ok. iv just never liked them, no real reason.
i do have a suzuki, beater car, that is cheap to run.
but as far as bikes, that brand just comes last choice for me.

Squid buys qixxer 'cause his bros got one --> squid does stoopid shit --> squid gives bad juju to gixxer 600/750. Most gixxer litre guys that I have encountered have higher mentality.

I love em, I've had an 88 1100 (my first big bike in 1990), a new 96 750, a 97 750, and an 05 750. The 750 is a great bike, and miles better than the 99 and 06 R6's I've had.

I'm hoping that 600's will be replaced by 750's...

And 1000's by 11 or 1200's....

Like the good old days! :hammer:
I'm going to scan a print pic of my 86 750 by tomorrow. That was a fun ride as a kid:fact My buddies 90 1100 was a major beast.

Side note: You do have a Gixxer tramp stamp after all that don't ya:fact

I Im really against profiling in any shape or form and sports bikes are not a exception.
So, how do you get through life on a day to day basis? I mean really? No profiling? That means no labeling and basically no assumptions.

Say you want pizza and see the pizza place accross the street. How dare you!!! You just assume that because it's a pizza place that they serve pizza? What is wrong with you, and if they did serve pizza, how can you assume they would sell it to you? You have obviously profiled this place to be like evey other pizza place out there? What have they done to deserve that? What if they are a pizza place that doesn't serve pizza? You've just gone ahead and ignorantly thrown them into the the group of all other pizza places. How can you call yourself a human being? Your morals are way out of whack dude, waaaay out of whack.

What I'm getting at, is GSXR's are the best selling motorcycle, and of all the sport bikes have the biggest percentage on the road, therfore by default the biggest number of a-holes will be on GSXR's, even if the percentage of A-holes vs non a-holes is the same per brand. So, when you see a GSXR they get lumped in. Most of us here aren't as elite as you and cant live life with no groupings, stereotypes, assumptions or profiling.

Likely because of their popularity, so the bad sportbiker stereotypes are going to be more frequently seen on them. I had an 07 750 as my last bike. It feels nothing like my 09 power-wise or handling-wise. They are short in height and are long. Sluggish feeling to turn. (Well, the current generation middleweights have a shorter wheel base and this helped a lot apparently, but I haven't had a chance to ride one.) I compared an 05 R6 with an 09 GSX-R600 back to back and found the R6 to be a much nicer bike (ergos and handling wise, anyway...both had very similar power).

Suzuki would finance anyone a few awhile there, and since Suzuki was the class champion for many years running in the Superbike class, everyone that bought a Suzuki thought they had the best bike on the planet. If you went to a bikenigt around here, 60% of the sportbikes were GSXR's that the only time they saw high revs was going under an overpass and finding a REV limiter.

I will also say that I had more fun on my gixxer 600 on the track than my R1. :fact

This is the funniest post I think I've read on here. Fact, every other brand sucks when you own a specific bike. On the Suzuki forum the R1 is a piece of shit, on the Honda forum Kawasaki sucks balls, on the Kawi forum Ducati is for guido's. Unless you own both you know nothing.

I had a 2008 GSXR 1000 and now I own a 2008 R1.I previously owned a 2006 R1 and a 2006 ZX-10R. The fit and finish of the GSXR (and ZX-10R) are sub par compared to the R1. The paint seemed to fade and scratch very easily. R1s are put together VERY well. The brakes on the GSXR are just HORRIBLE!! GSXR owners use R1 master cylinders, calipers and rotors are upgrades. I love the way the R1 handles better in my opinion also. That's why I love Yamahas over the competitors. Power is nothing without control. I think Yamaha understands this better than the other Jap bikes.

eh i've seen douche bags on every brand of bikes...i've been a douche myself, my 1st streetbike when i was 19 yrs old was a zx-7 with a d&d exhaust..loud and obnoxious and i used to rev the piss out of it under every damn overpass i rode through....i got my 1st R1 when i was 21 and the story continues and i've grown up since then, but...

i honestly prefer yamaha, always had YZ's since i was 11......the only reason i got the kawasaki was because im an impulse buyer and it was the first bike i looked at in my price range and it was loud and shiny :epimp haha

as far as gsxr's, i dont mind em, wouldnt be my first choice primarily because of the headlight...but if i stumbled upon a deal too good to pass up, yeah id probably buy it if i had the cash

the war will never end ha :nforc:

Had the chance to sample a Suzuki 750 on some roads near Deal's Gap a few years ago. I'll put it this way. I didn't want to give it back to the owner. Very nice ride for sure...

no files on a 750. all the cliches are true

gsxr's are nice bikes. My brother owns a 750 and it handles very well... very fast too. I must give it to suzuki though... If not all, most of their bikes stock vs stock seem more powerful and faster than yamaha's, yet still handle just as well.. If i ever get another bike, i will definitely have to get the 750. The power is like a litre bike yet feels like a 600. 140HP for 750cc is definitely not bad considering my 02 has only around 150... According to 1/4 runs, his is faster.. not sure about top end, but i wouldn't underestimate the 750's..

Only people who dont respect the gsxr 1000 are those who have not rode one at proper speed. I know a hardcore ducati 1098 owner sings ducatis praise all day long and even he had only two words when he got off a K9 1000,,,

"Very. Fast"

I think people ride GSX-R's because they are really easy to find parts for them. They are easy to mod, and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg to turn them into track bikes. With that being said, I don't care for the GSX-R because it's ugly. I bought my R1 simply because it looks good and can hold its own against any bike on the planet. My bike is the best because I think it's the best. Where I'm from R1's are few and far between, but everyone has a GSX-R. If you see one person with a bike like yours, it's one too many. And that's why GSX-R's suck ass!!!

you are correct that finding parts is considerably easier for a GSXR, especially track parts. Yes there are a lot of GSXR's on the road, that just means you have to work a little harder to make yours unique, I can guarantee there is not another yellow and black 02 750 that looks like mine, but I had to go the extra mile to make it so.

I live in the squid capitol of the US (South Florida) and I see just as many squids on Yamaha, Honda and Kawi's as I do on Suzuki's. Squids are squids, no one can choose what brand they happen to ride.

I find the playful taunting of other manufacturers to be amusing. Its the guys that really mean it that I just feel sorry for, it doesnt matter what kind of bike you have, its how you ride it that really matters.......

fvck Gixxers :fact
