Just seeing who has rode in the coldest temp. On a sportbike not a Goldwing with heated grips and a windscreen that can move clouds.
It gets damn cold here in Ky, but the coldest I ever Had to ride was
28 deg, just because I woke up for work and the car would'nt start.
Never again.....:fact

40 deg?.. I'd like to remind you that I live in LA, so....40 is a big deal for us :lol Cold weather isn't that much of a problem, as long as you are all geared up and have a sweater on. This doesn't include snow....for you wise guys :lol

Around 28 or 29. Didn't so much feel the cool as I was more worried about hitting a patch of ice. It had rained earlier that day and wasn't supposed to drop that much, I don't take that chance anymore. I give them a 6-8 degree margin for error now.

there is a thread if you can find it, where there was a contest for this thing. You had to take a picture near a temp (bank clock) to prove it though.

In '81 on one of my trips from Orlando to just North of Baltimore I got stupid.

It was 95 in Florida when I left at noon so all I was wearing was jeans, boots, t-shirt, helmet and had a hoodie bungee'd to the seat. A cold front came through somewhere around North Carolina. By the time I got to my parents around mid-night it was 21 degrees. My dad had to pry my hands off the bars and help me off the bike. I slept for 18 hours straight after that ride.

Never again, I went out and bought a snowmobile suit.

I rode to work the other day, just had to get a ride in. It was 34 when i went in and was meant to hang there but it started dropping fast. I came home just after 12 noon , it was 24 with freezing rain, I arrived with just enough clear space on my visor to see and I was ice white from the waist up. I am not doing that again..................wife won't let me either she was cleaning the floor from melted ice for half an hour :sing: :sing: :sing: I love Wisconsin

I flew out to CA on year and picked up a BMW K1200RS for a buddy. It is a sportbike, but has heated grips. They didn't do shit though! I was in 12 deg F weather one morning on the way back. I rode 45 minutes and had to stop for 45 minutes to warm back up, then repeat that until I came down off the high plains of New Mexico.

I picked up my 02 R1 from the dealership in February of 02 & rode it home. It was 14 degrees F, 25-30mph winds, snowing & ice covered roads, and new tires. Its typically a 20 minute trip, took me 45 minutes, froze my azz off & scarred myself sh*tless :scared

Had to get her home to start the mods :secret:

35 degrees in california the other week. I only have a short & quick ride to work though. Back of my neck didin't like it though. I may get me a mock turtle for the next time it happens. Oh hands were stiff in the hand grip position for a few minutes.

started by riding around the storm, ended up in the black hills of south dakota, then back into Wyoming, which is about 3 hours away, started raining, as we got closer to Deadwood, SD, it started snowing, me and a friend on a R6, we seriously thought we were going to die, no houses anywhere, we stopped numerous times, couldnt feel our hands, couldnt see,

my hands were so cold, they went numb, then they started to hurt, turn blue, then went numb again. and i was wearing leather gloves.

it had to be about 20 degress, add soaking wet clothes to that,,you do the math,,,we were close to death

I must have ridden in the low 50s at some point, Brrrrrr

On my bicycle (used to race Cat 1) I rode when it was -30 air temp -50 w/ wind-chill for 70 minutes - that was a cold fricking ride.

When I got my first R1 I went to Tahoe in the middle of the night.... Gambled all my money away and got in a fight with the G/F.. I ended up getting pissed and said **** it, I headed home (about 2.5 hours) at 1am with snow on the sides of the road. All I had was my jacket, thin gloves and some extra clothes. After about 5 miles I pulled over and put on all my clothes under my jacket and then put my sweats over my pants... :lol It was like 15 outside and driving it was colder than I have ever been. It was nice to get over the pass and finally get to some air that was above freezing. When I got back to the valley here it was about 40 or so and it felt like 80....

I will never do it again, but ya it was fun the next day after I could feel my legs and hands again.

Young and stupid..... :lol :lol :lol
