Hey guys I'm new here.
Originally from the UK I moved here in 2013 and gave been on 2 wheels since 2003.

I'm currently in the market for a new supersport and I had a few in mind .
Rsv4rr, R1, S1000rr or something a little different in the Ducati 959 ( 1299 and v4 a little outside my price range )

The European stuff hasn't been that hard to test ride and it seems like they genuinely want to sell however trying to test ride an R1 or any of the gap manufactures is like pulling teeth !.

Calling up several Yamaha dealers close to me , I might as well be calling up asking to sleep with the salesmans wife as there is genuinely no desire to sell.

I find it Bizzare that anyone would drop this kind of money without throwing your leg over a few prospective bike to see what's best for you.

Is this normal ?

I'm close to giving up on Yamaha, good as the bike may or may not be there is no way in hell I'm buying one blind .

RSV4 is the current favorite and has also had the best dealer, I showed up at the store explained what I was doing and within 5 minutes I was out on one testing.

this is not normal. you seem to be an exception. I have never had an issue getting a test ride.
my local dealer had a used R1 that I rode and I knew right away I was going to buy one. I had ridden the new ducati v4 the week before and wasn't impressed.
most bike dealers are desperate to move units and will do what they can to get your business
