no. there won't be a west coast forum convention.
that was tried in 2005, and failed horribly. shane got us a trackday at cali speedway, graves riders, and prizes.
in one month, he got TWO sign ups. then it got cancelled. i'd love to see him do it again, but the cali support just isn't there.
i know there's MANY cali riders on here, but most frequent other boards like hypercycles.org and socal-sportbikes.com. i've actually found more people that are willing to ride over on the mummy than i have here.
the r1f seems to have a stronger base in the midwest and east coast areas.
as it is, i only come to this section about once a month. it's just dead, and i never check it.
what would it take to fire it up again? who knows. most people complained about the trackday, saying that it was more of a racer thing, not a common rider thing. group rides haven't gotten much play when advertised.
maybe try to organize a giant ride and advertise it three months out. give people time to plan for it. have it end someplace where everyone can gather and shoot the poop. maybe something with live music and a best bike competition. chicks in bikinis always help too.
