What's your favorite brake pad?

So I've been focusing my attention on upgrading my brake system in the past month. I have added stainless steel lines, motul rbf600 fluid, and ferodo cp911 pads.(I want a brembo mc, but I just bought these damn pazzo levers! ) I must say, I expected the brakes to be far more superior than they currently are. I don't think I like these CP911's.

What do you guys use?

My bike is mainly ridden on twisties and mt's, but will see the track a good bit this season...

PS: Where can I buy Vesrah pads online?

Mostly street some track, here is your best choices, try them all and see which one you like and fits your riding style. They all will have different characteristics if you will. Vesrah rjl, performance friction 95 compound, carbone lorraine sbk-3.

EBC HH sintered

I have ran nearly all the major brands...

Each has their strenghts...

I run the Carbone Loraine Race Pads 95% of the time...They are simply the best when you want MAX braking performance and don't care about wear/replacement costs...They last about 2 weekends of use...

If it is raining and I have a race I will switch back to OEM Pads cause the CL's suck when wet and/or not hot from heavy braking, or on the street...

EBC's Suck....Period...They Glaze like crazy...

Galfer Pads SUCK THE WORST...Didn't even last one lap....

Vesrahs are the best when you want a slow, controlled stop with lots of feedback, last a little long than the CL's Don't have the INSANE Stoping power of the CL's...

IMO OEM Pads are the best for the street

One more thing, I saw you have Motul Fluid...Change that Crap out for Silkolene Race Fluid...Day and Night difference...

Call Rob at Lithium Motorsports, he can get your Vesrah's...

www.lithiummotorsports.com - Tell him Mike Simone sent you...He is a Race Sponsor of mine... :)

Wow, I am using Galfer pads and Motul brake fluid and a whole lot of race wins and a couple championships later and they are still in great shape.
Congrats...I'm glad they worked for you...:thumbup

Perhaps I brake harder than you and that is why Galfers did not work well for me...No Offense, but it is all about riding style...I brake harder than most people...

Could you really tell that much of a difference with changing the fluid??

I want to change my MC :( but like I said, I just got pazzo's like 2 weeks ago!

hard to beat ebc hh pads for the money in my book.

I have tried pads from braking performance, the stock pads, and the double h's. The EBC HH pads win hands down.

Yes I could...100%...The Silkolene Fluid is as I would describe it much more "solid" it does not have the liquid feel that I would attribute Motul to having...In addition to that, I never once, ever experienced fade with the Silkolene Fluid, where I did with the Motul...

I have upgraded my MC to a Brembo 19x18 and it is by far, the 2nd most important upgrade next to suspension in my eyes...

You really get a feel for how your brakes perform when you race at lots of different tracks. They perform different at Road America which is a HP Track where they get lots of use, vs. a Track like Blackhawk, where they don’t get as much…

I could even tell a difference between Brake Pad Compounds…Like I said, when you want RAW, flip you over your bar performance, get the CL’s once hot (I’ll drag them on my entire warm-up lap) they are simply unlike anything I have raced on…The Vesrah’s are next, much smoother, still stop very well, perform well hot or warm wear a little longer than the CL’s.

I carry a set of CL’s when I race and a set of OEM Pads in case it rains or is VERY cold where the CL’s will not get up to Temp…

The EBC is a horrible pad for Racing IMO, and the Galfer, is even worse, and I’ll stick to that.. :)

Can we get back on topic? I need to buy some pads now too and really don't know what to get. First year racing and trackdays.... any suggestions. Don't need over the bars stopping power, need good feel and modulation without overheating.

Vesrah RJL sintered racing pads. Best I have ever used....and still using them. Plus, your rotors will last almost forever...
