162 mph (indicated). my experience was pretty smooth. just a little shake....

 

Isn't 162mph the max for a stock '02?

I have hit 140 with lots of room left. I have a friend with a stock 20002 R1 and he has hit 176 with a little head shake. He has since put a scotts stabilizer and I will see what he hits now. I need a stabilizer and then I will feel more confident about getting it to higher than 140.

Speedo said 189mph, but we know that it was more close to actually 170. I pounded her off the rev limiter in every gear, well except 6th, it seemed to wanna go more!! I'm looking for the camcorder tape I have of it, allthough it's very bad quality and it was at night. I'll post if ya guys wanna see....

 

Last summer, 151mph, with a slip-on D&D and steering damper, that's indicated. Rock steady and tons of throttle left, I'll dust that this year.

110MPH indicated. Ok, I am a big whussy, but it has been a long time since I carried triple digit speeds, and it scared me. Just takin' it easy.

 

I hit indicated 175 on the motowaygoing into La Baule in Brittanny France with a standard screen so my head was
bit more could have been got i think but with the buffeting i couldnt see where i was goin.

headin back at the end of sept with all me goodies on so i'll report back with what i can get!!!

I figure a good 175 true speed.

Pulled it past red line in top gear. And it was still pulling

Could not do that stock though

Could only muster 186 indicated stock

 

I saw 170 (indicated) and the bike was still pulling, but if you factor in a 10% speedo error, I was probably going more like 153 mph.

 

140 two-up with the wife, 145 alone before I chickened out:lol Oh yeah, no damper. I have a friend that's FHP, and I'm gonna ask him to radar me down I-10 to find out what she's actually packing......:lol

 

i have had 184 mph indicated just a tri oval race slip on had no more stayed at that chasing a hayabusa and 12R on another ocassion for 2 miles!! LOL had no way of catching just a little game we like to play on my sunday morning rides with the TRIPLE DIGIT club

I just hit 272km (169 miles) on my bone stock 02 R1.

The bike could have gone more but I couldn't withstand the extreme woobling of the handlebar and the unbelievably small wind protection...

So what's your top speed like?

Where did you ride at this speed? PIE, mine hit 250km still plenty twist left.:thumbup

I never go above the posted speed limits. It just wouldn't be safe.

An indicated 274kph whatever that is in mph???
Had some more but was fast running out of slow down road :lol Was nice and smoot no shaking or anything. Bike only has a Yoshi slip on. No carb tuning or anything.

172 mph indicated. 2000 R1 with Laser Hotcam exhaust, everything else stock.

 

Did 145mph once...than got too many tickets and settle down afterward.
