Why do you want Sony and why do you want Plasma TV? The technology is not out in full yet. You will just waste your money.

But if you really want one, you could say what is your price range? I was watching Tech TV and they had very good review on those Gateway Plasma TVs. They are pretty cheap and come with some good features.

I just bought a 46" wide screen HDTV, payed 1500 dollars for it. The same exact TV in plasma form was $7999. On sale!

Screw that, I get the asme resoltuion, same TV, just its not skinny and I can't mount it on my ceiling.

I don't understand!! You want to put a plasma screen on your bike? WHY? For what reason?
LOL Oh I see, nevermind!!! I've seen them on raptors etc. With 20 inch rims at fudds sometimes. So I was thinking you were really going to find a way to put it on your bike, but I see that you just wanted to post that in here for some reason.

Here's where I picked up my 50" Panasonic:

Dr Plasma

This site is awesome. I received it within 3 days! I originally had it ordered through another site which told me they had it in stock and would ship immediately. Three weeks later and still no Plasma! They kept giving me the run around. So I cancelled with them and called Dr. Plasma. My recommendation is to call in person--don't order online. That way you get a good idea of their customer service.

I would do your research on Plasmas as well. Sony doesn't make the best. Some of them are the "prettiest" but they lack in picture quality, especially for watching cable or satellite. Panasonic and Pioneer are the two best consumer grade in my opinion. One good indication of quality is how hot the TV gets. Some of them get really hot. Panasonics stay cool. Here's a great site for reviews:

And here is why I went with the PANASONIC PT-50PHD4-P 50in:

Plasma Shootout

Oh, by the way, plasma rocks :thumbup

Listen to me. Plasmas are great they take up very little space and they look great.

How to shop for one.

1. Look at the resolution.
Their are two main types. EDTV and real HDTV upgradable.
The EDTV is cheaper, normally under 3K for a 42", they only
display 852x480 which is just ok.
Like the Gateway,Sampo,Dawoo

Now the full HDTV plasma's display normally 1080x768.
Most real HDTV signals are sent out 1080i. So the full
HDTV's will display full resoulition. The EDTV's down convert
the signal and don't dispaly the full signal.

2. Stay with a brand name and you can't go wrong. I recommend
Sony. Panasonic, Pioneer, Toshiba, Pioneer Elite, and Hitachi.

3.Buy one from a reptibile place. I recommend buying on from a
retail store. With the internet you might save some money but
most times you have a limited return policy, also if you have a
problem you want to have a face to talk to not
''Joe Schmoe.Com". Plus with a real store you can get it installed
professionally.

Trust me I am in the electronic business.

lil R!

Most of these people are correct. The Plasma technology is still new. Most that I've seen are in need of service within 2 years of purchase, and not able to be fixed correctly. Wait a couple more years until technology gets better.

Have you looked at the DLP LCD tv's? These are quite good, almost as good picture quality as Plasma even a little cheaper. If you are worried about the depth, they are only approx. 15" deep.

Hope this helps.

The only problem I have with DLP tv's are depending how
sensitive your eyes are you can see a "Rainbow Effect".
DLP is based on a light shining through a red, green, blue color wheel and then it shines on a mirror to give you a picture. Some DLP wheels spin slower than other's creating the "Rainbow Effect".
Most LCD tv that are larger than 42'' are LCD projection. This means that this is a magnafied image, so you can notice LCD pixels. True LCD tv's that are around 30-37 inches are quite expensive, even more than a comprable plasma.

If you want an alternative check out LCOS tv's.
It is almost like DLP but it look's much better.
Phillip's is currently making one. 50'' at 4 grand and it looks
good.
