I wouldn't go with either one of those. I would choose a 4300k or 5000k(depending on the manufacturer). Theses have more lumens and the light is more white than the 6000k and 8000k. I live in the Pocono's and don't have street lamps. So I would need whiter light to see ALL THE DAMN DEERS!!!!! I've had my close calls. But, to answer your question of the two, the 8000k is nice for looks.

I have 8000k and mine are very very bright , trust me when I tell you you wont miss a dear, not even a damn snail in the road. And they look awesome, very bluish tint.

4300K puts out good lighting, but honestly they dont even look like HIDs 99% of the time. Here they are inside of a projector in my X5. As you can see, they look like regular halogen lamps!

I have 6k but would go with 5k or 4.3k if I could do it again as they have greater lumen outputs. Stock HIDs in autos are 4.3k and they are bright with a slight tint of blue.

I'd go with 4300k or 6000k. I had 8000k in my car and while it looked superb daytime AND nighttime...I wasn't able to see the black dog i hit at night until i was about 10 ft away from it.

8000k look the best IMO.
6000k looks good and you can see better.
4300k you can see and it looks pretty good.

I also had 8k with my gsxr, of course that was a single beam HID setup. I regret after installing it and should have gone with 6k. Lil blue with a higher visible output on the streets.
i regret too.....:cryin :cryin

I say 8K is great.. But 6K is where you should be for seeing everything. My pick is 6K:D

WTH was sparky doing on a hwy at midnight?

I have three dogs and it wasn't easy for me either. But when $hit like that happens and a $1500 front bumper is completely destroyed...major blame is to the owner of the dog and the dog :bash

I got a 10k for mine... my bike is blue... I like it.. no complain here.!

ohh and I installed a ON/off switch for the lights.. don't see the point of riding with them during the day!! i got my side ones on.. jst flik the lights and they go off.. good for other things . but +++ for the switch

The 4300k has the most lumens, therefore more useable light. For pure performance lighting buy the 4300k. If you want a blue light with performance almost as good as the 4300k, go with the 5000k or 6000k.
Anything above 6000k is more for looks. If you do alot of night time riding I would go with the 4300k.

Where are you guys getting your kits from? Much involved to installing them? Only time I ever changed from stock bulbs was on my 1999 Blue R1. I got the bulbs they had in the store that were blue but they burnt out really fast from wheelies. (coming down, they just couldn't take shock very well) so I went back to the stock bulbs.
