I'd have to say USA since I live here... :rock

but a lot the sportbike world seems to take place in the UK... which would you guys prefer to ride in?

I voted USA cause I never been to the UK. It would be cool to do a tour of their back roads though. Cruising thru the UK would definatly be fun.

I will say that their Motorcycle mags are 10 times better than ours though. Ours are gay and suck ass.

seeing as I've been to the UK 18 times, i'll tell you what i think...i would take the US...its much bigger, offers hundreds of types of places to ride with completely different terrain...the uS has its advantages due to it's size...England does have incredible roads and I can imagine they would be pretty challenging seeing as how narrow they are...the problem with England is the rain...it isn't a big joke about the rain in England; christ does it rain alot! So all in all, the US has its advantages over England because of it's size and overall climate, but I bet it would be much easier to find twisty roads in the UK than over here...

Being from the USA, I voted USA. Ive been to the UK (never rode there though) and they have some outragous views! Great place to check out.

And I agree with the magazine statement, the UK Motorcycle Magazines are 100,000,000% better than ours here in the States.

UK = good roads

US = good weather, cost of parts, choice of parts, size, team spirit

I'd like to try the US for a year or two.

(Kathy, don't forget about the North West 200)

If you have lots of money, you can live anywhere and it will be great.

UK sucks because their selection of stuff is terrible, everything is overpriced, and the weather is abysmal. To add insult to the injury, you get charged huge VAT and many places charge extra for "eating in" and not doing take out.

But at the same time, city life is simply awesome. I haven't really ventured much away from London, but I have to say that London ROCKS. Plus, you are close to rest of Europe. And people in UK actually get decent vacation time to enjoy things, not like the shitty vacation time offered at most firms in the US.

The US offers lousy city life. Aside from a few cool places, the US is just one big highway with car dealerships, fast food places, and gas stations splattered in between.

So why do I life in the US? Money, job, easier access to schools... Things are simply more affordable here for an average person. In the US, any one can buy a nice car and a house if that's what they want.

i am Scottish and the roads are brilliant. Edinburgh is the best city you can go out in but the comments above are true.

This is rip off Britain, we get taxed on everything and Tony Blair would like us all to have no LIFE at all. Nanny state - its unbelievable here.
It does rain a lot here and I long for those Cali blue skys. I have been to US, NY, CALI, TEXAS, NEVADA, FLORIDA and I long for your weather but you got to enjoy the life you have been given. Oh my god I sound a wee bit philosophical. Must be the Tennents speaking.

I agree with the person above. I love the NW 200 miles better than the TT, 100000 Irishmen having a great weekend. Best guinnness in the world and bikes passing you 2 feet away at 200 mph. Brilliant.

So UK gets my vote but I would love to ride a sportsbike in the US.

US. Why? One word: Guns.:)
Yup....... as you lads in the states might know, guns were banned over here and we all had to hand them in. We got about 20 cents on the dollar of their true value. Unfortunately, the ban didn't appear to extend to nutters and real criminals going by the recent speight of shootings .:machinegu

UK RIDERS DRIVE ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD!!!!!!!!

lol. I've been there. that place..atleast London and I bet other cities are just too crowded and .. well, not made for a sportbike.

Outside city limits though..it could be better.

But in the UK it rains A LOT.... something like 200 rainy days.

I'll take USA. I has three letters. UK only has two.:crash

Actually I'd love to ride in the UK. I'd also like to take a lap on the Isle of Man(n?).:) :yesnod

Definately USA. Don't forget that the British have those gatso cameras everywhere and the laws seem to be a little too biker unfriendly.

USA USA USA USA USA

I'd love to visit UK/Europe, especially for riding (and touring historical stuff), but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else in the world.

Isle of man isn't in the UK is it? .. wasn't it a part of Ireland?..

it's an island between the two countries..
I think you may be right. All I know is I would love to ride that course and I would love to be there for the actual race.

The Isle of man is part of the UK but get this.....it has it's own government. Hence the reason why they have no speed limit outside of the built up areas. Without that independence there would be no TT Races! :no
Luckily they have so if you ever go there feel free to blast past a police car at 135mph while accelerating!!! I have :rock

So if you add the Isle of Man to your poll, it'd get my vote.

The shit side of the UK is the growing amount of Gatso cameras and the sheer amount of traffic on the roads. But on a good day, on an open A road it takes some beating!

Been to the NE in the US, travelled round in a hire car, wishing I had a bike, but the 55mph speed limit is shit, I have a ticket from Boston to remind me! :finger

Been to England a couple times. Would never want to put up with the weather, traffic enforcement, license restrictions, theft rate, etc. Living here in SoCal, it doesn't get much better than this. I agree the UK mags are REALLY GOOD. But, I have noticed that the American mags seem to be improving. Still have a ways to go though.
