If you have lots of money, you can live anywhere and it will be great.
UK sucks because their selection of stuff is terrible, everything is overpriced, and the weather is abysmal. To add insult to the injury, you get charged huge VAT and many places charge extra for "eating in" and not doing take out.
But at the same time, city life is simply awesome. I haven't really ventured much away from London, but I have to say that London ROCKS. Plus, you are close to rest of Europe. And people in UK actually get decent vacation time to enjoy things, not like the shitty vacation time offered at most firms in the US.
The US offers lousy city life. Aside from a few cool places, the US is just one big highway with car dealerships, fast food places, and gas stations splattered in between.
So why do I life in the US? Money, job, easier access to schools... Things are simply more affordable here for an average person. In the US, any one can buy a nice car and a house if that's what they want.
