wierd clutch noise...

I can hear a very soft (low) gurgle/grind from the clutch when it is fully engaged. If I pull the clutch lever in, the noise disappears. The noise is barely perceptable - but it's there. I felt like it was coming from the clutch since it goes away when the clutch is disengaged. Anyone have any ideas? Is it just another case of Yamaha design (noises that are normal for this bike)?

I notice some noise from my 06 LE's slipper clutch as well. I only hear it when the lever is out, clutch engaged. I don't hear it when I pull the lever in.

I also have a 06 standard R1. It dosen't make the noise.

I notice the LE's clutch is grabbier on engagment than the standard R1's clutch.

Yr Slipper, is it the ramp type, if so check it, you probally have worn a notch into the ramp, engaging it will climb the ramp, stick in the notch and when torque over comes it, grab.

My 05/04 R1's were dead quiet, last time noisy clutch was my 996SPS but they dry...

Costs you nothing to have a look and check the springs, torque em...I lock tight all my clutches when I rebuild em, paranoid.

How often does one have to monitor clutch on a 04-06 R1? I think, i hear same noise as on this thread, and it also kinda got my attention: if I don't pull the lever (its fully released), it kinda sounds like gears making noise, if I pull clutch level full in, the noise goes away (so not sure if its clutch related actually...).
But the main thing I feel that entire clutch works only in first half of the lever movement - i mean half-way through releasing it, the clutch/gear is fully engaged. Is that normal or i need to check my clutch?
Bike says on the clock under 20000 km, but since its a second hand i would not be 100% certain its true mileage.
