If the link pipes are welded to the canisters, no.
If they are spring fit, yes. I have personally swapped the cans on 2 bikes so far (07/08 -> 04/06). Yoshimura and LeoVince slip-ons.
No... but if i did take pics you wouldnt be able to tell... We've been putting the 07-08 exhausts on the 04-06 models because the newer exhausts are often updated. So you'd be looking at a pic with an 04-06 R1 with a newer style exhaust.
i'm pickin up what you're laying down.. there's some slip ons that i like better on the last gen than what they have for mine, and i've always wondering if it would work.. but thanks anyway..
I was just wondering the same thing because I have an 04, but I like the look of the 07-08 yoshi pipe better... can it be done... What needs to happen in order to make it work..
You can cut down the pipe of the exhaust and have a piece made specifically to fit your Y pipe.
Then you have to worry if the exhaust can actually bolt to the mounts of the bike. It might fatter and not fit the underbelly or the mounts in different angle or height. Which would lead to further machinering...
