I think the big thing going for this road, is it's sealed so well.
Not just another windy mountain road.

Couple of those roads look a little rough!!! :scared :lol

 

In fact! That's roads like the historic "St. Gotthard" road. It is being preserved for touristic and historic reasons.
Evidently those roads are making it into the photo galeries, however you rarely actually ride / find them.
There normally is a second road in parallel that's more current ;-) (and much more fun on a fast bike).

tasmania here has some awseome roads, my fav had 300 turns in about 26 kms.
