I wrapped my exhaust up and wanted to know how yall thought it looked. I haven't wrapped anything up in a long time (including you know what) and I forgot how much of a mess it was. :crash

Tell me in your HONEST opinion how it looks. If it looks like shit, then tell me it looks like shit. If it looks good then tell me it looks good. I think it looks decent but I'm wondering if I shoulda went with white instead.

EDIT//When you cut the "wrap" it makes it fray REALLY BAD and look horrible. So you keep trimming it down little by little and it keeps fraying and fraying...you think you have a clean cut and then look back two minutes later and its frayed again!

i think it looks ok but the lower exhaust piece that attaches to the frame looks like it might be too loose

I personally would have only wrapped it from the Y-Pipe on up.

I like it, I have been thinking about doing mine.

The wrap is only supposed to overlap about 1/4" looks like you overlaped it a little too much.

Also be aware that it's going to smoke a little on the first start up, be careful not to breath in the fiberglass smoke.

Hmmmmm...

no its all good man i want honesty here.

i personally think it looks decent but the main reason i did this was to prevent my rear from being so hot
I wish I had two more hands so I could give it four thumbs down.

But if it serves its purpose then it's all good. It's whatever you like...our opinions shouldn't matter much.
I have decided not to do the wrap, they look too much like leg warmers.

I did find this stuff at Advance Auto Parts, called VHT - ceramic coating. The stuff is about $8 per can and my next door neighbor told me that he used about 4 cans and coated his exhaust on his R6.

Their is a definite noticeable difference in heat temperature with the ceramic coating. You can put the coats on and let your bike run idle. Do this a few times to fully cure the ceramic.

i don't like it. i wrapped my y-pipe but i'm probably gonna take it off. it might look better if you get some hi temp paint and paint it black.

moisture shouldn't be a problem. the heat from the exhaust should keep it pretty dry.

You did a good job wrapping the pipes. I hate wrappping and the feeling of small fiberglass needles all up my arm. Even if I wear gloves, invariably, I get a bit of contamination somewhere on my skin.

Honestly though, ceramic coating has come down in price so much so that I'd recommend pulling it off and having it coated. It'd probably cost you $150 or under to do it. I had mine wrapped but I went ahead and had it ceramic coated recently. Looks much better IMHO.

No likey. It looks like your exhaust sprained its leg and is wearing an ACE bandage. The ceramic coating, on the other hand, looks VERY nice.

I removed the cats guts and wrapped just the Y pipe on my '05 R1. I used the Hi Temp silicone spray over the wrap. It leaves a hard surface and won't let the wrap fray or collect dirt.

You can hardly see the wrap and it made a huge difference in the temperature.

I'm not feeling the pics, but it's your bike. Good Luck with it.
