is it just me or is $10,600 for a new 2006 CBR1000RR out the door way to much when the 07 is $11000. both bikes i have bought were brand new and i seem to get a great deal but soon as i bring someone else with me the wont budge with the price of a bike thats a year old. BTW anyone that wants a brand new never titled 05R1 a local dealer has one still. someone let me know if im jumping the gun, but i feel its tooooooo much.

I know what you mean. I was just casually chatting with a dealer about how much of a hit they were going to take on the 3 999's they had left when the 1098 came out and they got all defensive and started giving me a bunch of shit about how they're both unique bikes. I told them that it'd be very hard to sell a 999 for the 14,999 they wanted when the 1098 is about 15,000 and they just gave me the cold shoulder. I was really interested in the 620 monsters they had when the 695 was sitting next to them and they acted like there was no difference at all between the model years. Screw dealers.

heh thats what all the people who bought the 999 are telling themselves when they look at their bikes :)

he called honda east and a found out all the details just to make sure no hidden charges and the OTD price was like $9400. so he called the local dealer we went to and told them and now the $10600 (lowest they could go) somehow is being matched. ill know today if he gets the loan. he has bad credit so alot of people told him to join a credit union. he did that yesterday. ill keep you all posted and thanks for the help everyone

I get jealous of most people on forums when people make those "What did you pay OTD" threads. In the Tucson, AZ area I haven't found 1 dealer that'll budge off MSRP on ANY '07 model and '06 models are still priced high. Most dealers in Tucson have the '07's marked up atleast $1,000...they call it "market adjustment." :lhumper:

I found some other AZ dealers about an hour away that'll sell for MSRP + fees, taxes, freight, etc so the R1 & K71000 go for about $13,000 OTD. Still very high compared to what a lot of guys on here pay. I was offered an '07 R1 for $12,400 OTD from one dealer and he acted as if he had to go through God himself to get the price that low.

If there's anyone in AZ that knows some good Yamaha & Suzuki dealers please let me know...I haven't found 1 yet.

Yeah, I look at these as 'How much did i get screwed' threads. In New Jersey, its hard to get a deal on anything at any time. I don't know how people get $2000 off.

Oh well, someone from NJ is now going to post that they got their R1 for 8900 OTD. Sigh.

Honda East Toledo is selling the '07 R1 for $10,099 & the K71000 for $9889. You have to pay for shipping which is about $450. I used their prices get my local dealer to knock $1,200 off the price of my K7 I have on hold. If he wouldn't budge on his price I would've just ordered from Honda Toledo. I'll check them first from now on before I buy ANY bike. A R1 for $10,099 or K71000 for $9899 really makes paying atleast $16-$27K for the 1098 seem crazy.

Dealers are usually all about making as much money as possible. You will only get taken, if you don't do your homework for the most part. Most need a good kick in the a@#.
