I don't believe the "white wire" mod actually works. You'll have better luck activating the secondary injectors by getting a switch box and getting the ecu into race mode or buying a race ecu...

You can buy the YEC kit manual on ebay (cd)...it does not have any info on the "white wire mod".

 

James thanks for the response and the info. Don't suppose you know if the ECU needs reprogramming after this mod do you? Searched ebay for an R7 YEC kit manual but nothing on there at the moment. I have ordered a test coupler adapter, which should allow me to interrogate the ECU and enter codes.
Did you get the attachments you sent from the kit manual or elsewhere?

I have a 2000 kit manual I will try to get you. The document I posted came with a bunch of literature and service manual when I bought the bike. There is no info about tuning for the white wire in the manual, (no mention of it I'm pretty sure).

Supposedly the white wire mod was done to mine, but when I pulled the secondary injectors they looked dirty and not from use (minty fresh when you wiped them clean)...
Programming the ecu looks like a real chore with its archaic button mashing interface, something I haven't done yet...my bike is running the same horse power as a late Gen tuned GSXR 750 (on the same dyno) but it's a little on the lean side, the secondaries need to be activated for sure and it could use a proper tune...it would be unreal to ride one of these with a full 160 to the wheel...

Have investigated mine and it has already had the white wire grounded to earth, but the when the ignition is powered on the red light does not flash 5/6 times (supposedly indication that the race mode is enabled and all 8 injectors enabled). Guessing it needs the additional code entered to trigger the race mode for the ECU. Would be great if you could send a copy (electronic or paper, will cover any costs) of the kit manual. Not after 160 but would be nice to gain the extra 20 from enabling all injectors.

Lots of oldies and goodies, missed my zx7r nice collection.

 

Just took her out for a shake down, first ride in a long time.

 

I really wish I was able to have bought the R7 when it came out back when. I was like 14 years old and had posters of it posted all over my room.
