I removed these from my Gen 1 FZ1 because I will be selling it this year.

I wanted to list them here and give the members an opportunity before I put it on ebay.

Yamaha YEC R1 Race cams
There are less than 3000 miles on these babies and they are in perfect condition.

Discontinued by Yamaha $800.00 for both. (Plus shipping)
(they cost me $900.00 each)

Includes slotted sprockets.

You are only partially correct.... only in the fact that there were differences.

You can use the newer cams in the older heads... but you cannot use the older cams in the newer heads.

The heads are the same oiling design from 2000-2003.... oil is pressurized through one passage and comes out through the cam (cam is pressurized) and this oils the head. See end plugs in photos.

1998-1999 the head was pressurized internally and had a hole at each cam lobe journal (in the head) and this oiled the cam. (early cams were hollow with no end plugs)

Do you have any idea how many R1 & FZ-1 motors I have put together and for how long I have been doing this?

Using these cams in an early motor works just fine.... there are no issues at all... as a matter of fact, the application in Yamaha's accessory book addressed these cams as 1998-2003.

Please don't try to tell people that these cams won't work in their bikes....

lol, an expert huh? (well you do make good needles)
i have yec cams in my bike. i never said they "wont work" (your words not mine).
i was just pointing out they are different.:crash
