Hi folks !

Lot of different exhaust systems and dyno curves has been released for 2004 R1 at this forum...many of the horsepower gains are just claims...some have released real dyno curves which are more realistic...anyway it is real sad that many of you have used only downloaded general maps for power commander III...only few of you have done the real mapping work for individual bike using a lot of expensive dyno time...but believe me...this is the secret for the real power...

I have had a long co-operation with my local Yamaha dealer and they have found with their dyno, the best slip on hp gain has been found from the Yoshimura tri oval and custom mapped power commander III...again Yoshi...the yoshimura was my choise for 2001 R1 also !!!Ok...of cource they have had no possibility to test all the pipes but for instance Acrapovic gave 1 hp less...

The Yoshi tri oval shape is a little bit strange for 2004 R1...some likes the shape and some not...I have not seen much pictures from tri oval pipe and 2004 R1 at this fotum...but...believe me...after hard study on dyno...this pipe is a real killer...

ALMOST 11 HP (10.77 HP) POWER GAIN compared to STD bike(Yoshimura Tri oval slip on and power commander III with special custom map for individual bike)!!!

Do you have that map I can download?I just got my pc3 and it came pre mapped for my yosh slip-ons but I don't think it is the best map because if you rev the bike just sitting there you can make it stall and it doesn't seem as crisp as I think it should.Let me know if you can help or if you know anyone that can.

map

No I dont have that map for my bike (I have the dyno curve for other individually mapped 2004 r1)...but soon I am going to do the work for my bike also...

The only way you will find the "hidden and available" power is to custom map you bike with professional tuning workshop...The individual map for your bike and power commander will give you the maximum power gain...

Hi Cris if you go to: www.dynojet.co.uk
then select power commanders they have downloads for many bikes fitted with a different air filter/exhaust combinations, I hope this is of some use to you.
Unfortunatly I cant use this feature as I have an Apple Mac and the files can only be read by a PC.
Ive just looked an im not sure if they have the Yosh's on there but im sure they would do somewhere.

I think those look like ass but mabey if they were tilted like stillh2o_r1 said it would flow better.

Nice gains though, but it doesn't mean any other tuner will have the same results.

Some new pipes will tend to do that.Usually it's just the moisture in the pipe.

I will agree that there is just something not right about how they look. To each there own though!!

the angle of the triangle tips is all wrong and they just dont match the lines of the bike....then again if you dont care about looks :thumbup
I dunno, I just really like them for some reason. they are different, and yoshi logo looks phat!

Also, the angles do line up with the bike in my opinion. prob look better with a fender elim

I liked the way your bike sounded. It was louder than I had expected it to be. I want it to be very deep too.

I wonder how they sound on a 2004.

I liked the looks hands down the most on the Yoshis.....

but when buying a exhaust this is how my percentile system works:

Performance = 50%
Sound = 30%
Looks = 20%
