So I have noticed that the Yoshi exhaust doesn't get much love from anyone on here!! Its mainly Akra and Graves.. Is that because the Yoshi is no good, poor quality thought of as a Suzuki part or just a brand no one wants on there R1 really?? I have to say i do like the look and sound of the Yoshi's for the 09+ R1's.. So if I can can get some thoughts/opinions on this it would help me out and probably a lot of other people maybe wondering the same, but haven't said anything :riding

To each his own. I prefer Akrapovic and Graves simply because quality is top notch, sound is amazing, and performance is awesome, not to mention Graves started out manufacturing FOR Yamahas.

..... at least you didn't say Two Brothers.

I agree with the Graves for the fact they originally where a Yamaha factory supporter only at first.. That's why I was thinking Yoshi in my opinion is more of a Suzuki brand of after market because that was there main focus and still is to a degree..

Something about Two Brothers exhaust just seem cheap and ugly for some reason.. No hate mail people its just my opinion :sissy: and if you have Two Brothers good for you and the coolest part of that company in my opinion is that they have the American flag on there products!!!

My Yosh carbon cans are about 4 years old and they look good as new. I havent had a lot of experience with yosh but id say theyre up there in the ranks. They are more associated with shitzuki tho. A guy I ride with has a 2013 R1 with the Yosh double tip carbon cans and they looked real nice, a bit on the bulky side tho.

The yosh pipe look nice and I'm sure their build quality is fine. I have the Akra pipes on my ZX12 and R1. Pipes are all a personal thing. I like the shape of the Akra cans plus the internals are all TI. I don't think Yosh uses any TI parts other than the skin of thier cans if you choose the TI shell.

I have the Yoshi TRC 3/4 system on my 08 and LOVE it. Bought it used and cans looks very good.

Reasons to buy: 3/4 system has all the benefits of removing CAT but you don't have to deal with header fitment issues. Some of these other brands I see people have to remove headers to change oil. F*** that.

Their US support in CA is first rate too. Had to get a few bolts etc that didnt come w my used one and they were very responsive.

From what I read Yoshis are more tied to Suzukis but I don't care about that. Its a great product in my opinion.

My exhaust goal was to keep that deep throaty low end roar at redline and the Yoshi doesn't accomplish that. Many of the exhausts on the market don't and it starts to sound like a screamer engine up top. From the extensive sound clip research I did these are my top 3 M4, FMF, MJS. All the rest I wouldn't even consider for my goal.

My personal opinion on Yoshimuras, based on running them on a number of Suzuki racebikes between 1996 and 2006,

The japanese built titanium race systems used to be on par with the current generation Akrapovics, from a build quality point of view. If anything, more horsepower than the Akras. Only drawback was the price...bloody expensive...

I am sorry to say it, but the american built "Yoshimura USA" systems used to be crap in comparison. Vibrating to pieces in no time, cracking in all kind of funny places, rivets vibrating off, silencer packing blowing out in no time...In my opinion, just another cheapo exhaust...

The rust in the attached pictures indicates poor surface threatment before the chroming procedure. The heat right behind the cat probably does not help. Then again, why buy chromed pipes for a sportsbike...???

I have Noticed the Packing blowing out where the end caps attached to the larger barrel section. also in further inspection today i looked inside the end cap and noticed the mild steal looking perforated core had some rust starting around the welds also.
