First off, welcome and congrats on the new R1.
I had a Yosh on a zx9r. I thought it had a very good sound. Also a buddy of mine had the tri-oval on a gsxr750. Again, great sound.
The only knock I have heard about the Yoshi is that it has actually robbed ponies in some applications.

 

I've got some Yoshi's but I can't remember which ones for some reason at the moment. :dundun:
Had a few too many this evening again I guess.

Here's a pick for ya... Don't know about robbing ponies though, I just had my girl dyno'd and she's sitting at 164bhp which isn't too bad considering how little I've done.

 

I have the same Yoshi slip on he has; they sound pretty good, they have sort of a deep tone sound. I also noticed a jump in HP when I installed them.

should i get the full exhaust or just a slip-on?this is my first 1000cc bike had a gixxer 750 with jardine and i didnt like it, thats why i bought an r1.

 

What year is your R1? Side exhaust or undertail?

 

yoshimuras are ok honestly there are a bunch of other great pipes that look and sound awesome for a similar price if you had any interest in that. I know personally i love my arata pipes the termignoni pipes are sweet too, there are also alot of guys sporting graves and akrapovic pipes too and i know they are good.

like bsgesch said what year is it? any pipe style in particular you are looking for? carbon, stainless, titanium?

i heard there great on gsx-r not yamaha .just heard from friends.

 

I run a full system and love it its not load and its plenty deep and its lighter and i gain more power. Im not trying to full out race if i did id go with graves ,arat or akro . So for ma just my opion it works perfect.

 

akra is more popular than yosh for the r1's, but i can't answer on the power output. They might make the same power, but they surely aren't as popular as say the akra.

 

you guys are crazy... its all about akrapovic with yamaha's...
