The way I see it this:

1. He enjoys the chalenge and very interested in this sport. He has commitment which will keep him interested.

2. He has :dollar and nothing can stop him to be as involved as he is.

3. If they do achive the goals and become winners, or at least put themselves on the map, the payoff is there in a financial form and feeling of success as we all know is priceless.

He is lucky to do what he does, but he earned everything on his own :bow . That's what it's all about I think. :rock

I liked the interview, as he is well spoken, and from what i can tell, approaches everything intelligently. I have been a fan of him, his accomplishments. Seems to genuinely interested, and excited about it, and the team might do well with the right rider, and backing. HOWEVER, as much as he is determined, and seems interested, i am very interested to see if he gets up from a crash, and rides again (If he races alot on the track-Oh, its a given-happens to EVERY racer)...wish him no bad luck, and no intention of course, but that would put him in a different light...this is not like falling into first row at the court on a couple of chairs, or getting hit in the ass by a pitch..I understand his desire to succeed, but making mistakes on a track, is for lack of a better phrase, and padron the pun...but "Its a whole NEW ball game".

Good luck Jordan and welcome to our club. Good to see good guys take an interest and do well :D

Cheers

Just my .02

Perhaps you missed a few portions of the interview and also failed to notice the man's leatrhers, but it was evident from the left front side of his leathers and the fact that he said it ( He said he had at least 3 crashes in pridmores school and during trackdays. ) I'm impressed with what he's doing and I don't think he's talking about racing himself I think he's just so into the sport that he want's to field a team that'll win. My money says he'll partner Montez up with Picotte or another big name. I also would'nt put it past him to field a development racing team. It may not be obvious to you all but I think his aim is to bring a new demographic to motorcycle racing that's simply not represented when considering the level represented in sales and on the street. ( I don't even have to say it but , think about it.)

Well put

I thought the interview was facsinating. Very cool to have him explain (in plain terms) how and why he's gotten so involved in motorcycle racing.

Loved the part about renting the track for $5K so he and his buddies could get some practice time in.

I also got a kick outta hearing an absolute icon like MJ talk so enthusiastically about motorcycles and racing much like any 16 year-old obsessed bike nut would.

There's not a person on the planet who doesn't respect Jordan. He's so likable, articulate and personable and seems truly interested in furthering the profile of the sport we love.

Much like his obsession with golf, I think his motives for getting involved are based purely on his enthusiasm and passion for two wheels.

He's hooked like the rest of us and has the time and money (unlike the rest of us) to do whatever he wants to immerse himself in this new-found passion.

I truly believe having him involved could be the single most important factor in helping to bring motorcycle racing into the American mainstream (which is a good thing). :thumbup

hmmm i'm glad he did get into the sport. he will definetly attract more ridders to the sport so that is definetley good for us in the rider wareness arena. as far as how far is he going to go personally into the sport who knows we'll just have to wait and see. i personally havent like jordan since he was a complete ass to me on the street when i tried riding with him. but then again if i was jordan id be a d*&$ to whoever also. good luck to MJ maybe i'll run into him on a public blackhawks farms trackday.

Sometimes when you dont know you have to act like you know. My buddy Chuck worked off duty for Jordans security here in Orlando when he was doin the baseball thing with the Bulls in 95 or 96' . The most amazing thing was how he tried to connect with every fan , even when some of the sicko fans actually went out of their way to squeeze the crap out of his hand or try to do a slip n' fall on him. It's one thing to be on your p's and q's when you're standing in a crowd or from the front seat of your Escalade with the windows up, it's quite another thing to be worried about a crazy fan ( Known or unknown ) when you're out riding on two wheels.:fact

I have envied Jordan my whole life and to seem him interested in our favorite sport is great. I can't wait to see how his team progresses. I hope he and his team are at VIR later this month for the AMA's. Would love to get to talk to him. He is truly an icon for the world. Let's start a poll and see how many of us at least had one pair of "air jordan's" LOL. Frank

He needs to look at Shane Turpin to be on his team next year. He is an MRA racer who only races the Open Superbike Classes, sprint and endurance, and he is on last years R1.

Shane can do amazing things on a 600 as well. Ask any member here that races MRA in Colorado.

16 for 16 this year, and holds every MRA track record.

Can you say natural talent? I Hope someone is watching.

Check out the race results for your self.

Shane Turpin #14 MRA races this year.

If anyone, er ah hem, needs more info, please PM me. I won't tell anyone.

From what he said he's really hook and passionnate about the sport, :dollar will never be a problem foe him. Montez is not the good man if he wanna win. Jordan himself will never race, did you see him, slowest dude i've ever seen, but as long as he has fun :thumbup. Go-show was so out of shape when he was testing the Honda i'm pretty sure will never see him slide a bike around a track like he has done in the past :( . so i don't think so. I have always been a big fan of Jordan, and i think it's cool like hell to see him in the sport!!!

If you get to meet him, tell him about this site.... that would be cool to have him post once and a while.. haha

P.S.- I never owned a pair of Air Jordan's... too trendy for my taste.

From what I have been hearing on the inside, is he is putting Pridmore on his own Ducati team next year. He should stick with the Yamaha's though. Twins are dead in my book.

Yeah if I get to meet him I will def. mention the site. It will be interesting to see if he does come to the race and hangs out in the pits with his team. Frank

Yo, what up kent? Shane told me you got an 04 R1, congrats. I just realized this was you, I didn't see your last post telling me it was you until I just did a search and found it.

I really hope someone takes him into consideration, he desivers a ride. I would like to go to Denver again and watch him take the championship. The last race is at Second Creek which is close enough to denver that you can stay just about anywhere. My Stephs sister just moved to denver a couple months ago. She has been wanting to go and visit her, so maybe that will be a good time to go since it won't be snowing yet... hopefully.

Anyway, I'm going to send you a private message with my phone number, get a hold of me, let's go for a ride or just hang out, I want to check out you new bike.

shane told me that you are looking to do some sh!t to it, I have a few things done to mine, you need to check it out.

Later
