long drive.600 plus miles each way..2 days 2 races (San Ant. rainout makeup race at Houston). TNT on Friday right out of gate bike goes 9.46 first pass on motor. played with rpm window switch and had too much nitrous coming in too fast...wheelied in 2 or 3 gears and had to lift...9.23 then slowed it down too much but it was controllable went 9.20..dam too soft. Wanted to play some more but I was trying to save clutches for 2 races in the 2 days, and I knew making nitrous passes wasn’t gonna help out.

Sat. #1 Qual if Super St class with 9.504. we had 20 bike in class, bike was dead on all night. last 5 bikes, bike breaks out running 9.488( .012 OMG )
ET class with like 100 bikes... again bike just dead on and its hot 90 and humid 100% and we had couple hour rain delay. Correct DA was 3700 feet most of day...crappy for sea level track! made it to finals in ET...got sandbagged by guy running 9.70 and dialed 9.90 on gsxr1k and he knew it...shut down at end and my bike freaking flew....course it was midnight.....on 9.50 dial..... How bout 9.33 ( don’t know where this came from) but fastest my bike has ever went on motor alone....picked bad time to go fast when I needed consistent... oh well.. nice little check and trophy.

Sun. again #1 in S/ST with 9.53. Ended up 3rd place & won little more money. Double break out his 9.45 to my 9.437( again .013)nice points weekend that should put me in points lead or right there for final race in month or so.
ET class made about 5 rounds till there were like 12 bikes left and broke out again 9.50 dial with 9.48 on brakes.

left 5:15 got gas. made it to I-10 and went 3 miles and dead stop traffic for bad wreck. 1 hour to go 3 miles...got some nice help coming home with some good front doors on highway...rolled to house at 2 a.m. was good time. I made like 16 passes on Saturday and that was with rain delay and only 1 qualifying session or it would have been 18 passes. Don’t even know how many I made on Sunday..

I cant remember mph on 9.33 pass, but I will scan slip 2morrow and post it up…but it was only like 146-147. best b4 this was 9.40@150 but this was in ultimate perfect conditions that have never happened again. I guess motor finally wanted to run.. normally first pass for me is in 60’s or high 50’s…then it comes down a little… hate that I had to loose in finals. but I guess ill take it anyway I can get it.

header suppose to be on way... frames getting powercoated,. still few parts to fab up..but dont think it will be ready anytime in near future.. maybe before first race of next year...maybe. we only have one more race in season for us anyways. really frustrating even thinkin about it... it was at this same race 1 year ago...that tranny broke...hasnt run since then........

when it ran 9.50s all weekend most were in 1.60s. the 9.33 was 1.54...but i think where it gained is 330. i was hard on clutch and had revs up riding it hard..and it helped there. ill scan passes 2morrow..still 2 tired..to even go to truck and get timeslips out of glove box. even with some really bad 60ft... it still ran 9.50s... i went lots of round..but really i wasnt on my game.. i had crappy lights all weekend...i just screwed up less than alot of other guys i raced. really i cant explain why it ran faster than it ever has.......honestly i have no clue... last race in San Antonio in heat right b4 rain...it was 107.. it went 9.67 first pass... which my first pass is always .1 slower than my others...so when it went 46 first past Fri.. i couldnt explain where it came from.. i really expected a high 50 or 60. i really wanted to get it in 8's.. but next time i guess. i think this was prolly weekend it would have went 8s too... oh well next time i guess.

LOL, Its never easy is it. Congrats on the new time.

Of course it comes when you least expect it :no

The deal is you were in the finals B. So don"t beat yourself up. Thats a lot of bikes to shoot down, so , that in itself is a great job.

okay heres slips. i figure time really came from 60 ft and 300 being faster. notice time on first slip. this is finals in ET at @ 11:30. the other slips are 3 TNT runs i made on Friday in order that i ran them. First pass was just right off truck on motor. others i played with nitrous and window switch. first pass i wheelied in 2 gears and lifted once i think. last pass was slowing how fast nitrous came in by 1 second. i still activated nitrous too late with window switch... and turned nitrous off too early before reaching shift RPM's. but this is first time i have got to use new rpm window switch, so i need to play with it and adjust when it comes on, how fast it comes in and when to turn it off. and by looking at 9.33 pass. it needs more nitrous sooner..cuz its not making much difference in short numbers.

Isn't all motor and nitrous in the same sentence an oxymoron...???...

yes and no...... well u get idea. i was just playing with nitrous on 2 passes Friday night. new MSD RPM window switch worked like champ. just gotta figure out what hell bike likes and doesnt. i know build time on nitrous with 1.7 seconds was too fast and at 2.4 secs it was too slow. normally my bike is about .1 off for 9.50 class. so i have been spraying it to get bike down to 50's but i had to do it in fashion that wasnt real consistent... i was spraying 20 shot to it after i shifted in 2nd and letting off when it went to 3rd... last time out this helped the .1. but for some reason bike didnt need any help getting there this time. dont know why bike was faster this time..maybe its getting broke in...only has 1200 miles on it... it ran 9.40 2 years ago on motor...but that was most perfect conditions you could have ever asked for at track. normally it runs high 50's or 60's specially in summer months.

no thats too far for me to go, i live in west texas... and its 10 hour drive just to get to houston. i did run at NO problems Raceway in Louisiana once for shootout race. it was 16 hour drive and hattiesburg is further east. if i lived closer hell yea...but i can only take so many 10 hours trips a year...i hate driving any further than that.

brandon, Junior and matt are class act guys and my friends. i have much respect for all of them. Brandon actually had helluva a weekend and ended up winning one class on saturday and once in sunday.Sat he beat his Dad, Junior, in finals.
 
Props on the killin motor passes! I cant wait to finish mine. YES ive been lagging like no other, hah. Ever thought about going longer on the stretch? Or is there some regulation on WB? Im pretty much set on a 10" over arm. Fully pinned launches? ha, i wish.

I have some fairly siik numbers to post up from my 05 R6. It's deemed that i have a R1 engine in it, or it is my R1 made to look like a r6.lmao :2bitchsla Not quite single digits tho! :(

actually the arm can go longer... it still can be another 3 inches longer. no WB restrictions..but it still has to fit on my truck...lol i thought about going longer..but it really never pulls wheel up...unless i turn nitrous on and set it on KILL. right now its only 5 inches over sitting @ 60inches..give or take a few mm. or so. dont want to get too long as it wont hook..been there with old bike...it was 14 over...and overkill for me. tho it now belongs to another forum member with turbo on bike.
 
Those are sum good times! unfortunatlely I AM THE FASTEST STOCK MOTOR R1 on this forum! im from Richmond, VA and i ride a 2003 r1. I run what u run on the bottle on motor! I would love 2 set sum up between us if youre interested, i will come 2 Texas if i have 2 prove that i am the fastest STOCK motor r1 on this forum!

P.S.
for all the haters u can log onto PSYCHOBIKE and watch me live @ the last MIROCK event held in Rockingham, N.C. I raced in 2 classes, street & pro street so u shouldnt have a problem validating this. there were @ least 200 bikes @ this event but i was the ONLY r1 in the races.

welcome to forum. i never said i had fastest anything in any of my post and still dont claim to. i for one cant believe that your saying you motor is stock on 03 and running 9.teens. not without help as far as pistons, compressions, cams, whatever. several guys from shootout run 03 yamahas and have alot of work done to them and they run close to what i do, of course they are little heavier than i am. please post pics of your bike.. i want to see this and whats wheelbase on it. Come on down to texas i love to race anyone. our last Tx shootout race is Oct 28th. Temp will be cool and times should be flying.

Also why arent you running 1000SS in Prostar on ur bike. if you can run 9.teens on stock motor.... hell you could set record for low ET in class and win the championship. let us know how MIR race goes for you. post some pics when you get chance. i would really like to see ur bike.

Just because you run in the 9.40's - why should we believe you do it on a stock internal or no nitrous motor? That can't be seen or verified by a video.

well nuke he says he runs on (stock)motor what i run on nitrous.... of course if hes talking bout the times posted above on friday TNT when i was playing.. both passes were 9.20's bike has gone faster on nitrous than that. but i take that he is running faster than 9.20s on 03 R1 with stock internals. my times are easy to find.. they are posted in results of shootouts and here. i dont mind telling my times. best motor pass is 9.33 as posted above, before that it was 9.40. on nitrous almost 2 years ago i ran 9.15 on bottle when our turbo bike broke and i had already entered in SBS so i rode yamaha just to get points for round. Also let us know your name so when i watch the RPV i am sure that it is you on 03 R1. not hatin at all, if that what you run, great for you.. i love to see fast yamahas at strip. mind you that i still run stock exhaust, stock airfilter and no powercommander which i know would improve bikes times on motor. im pretty sure his 03 doesnt have stock pipe still bolted on to it. good luck at MIR race.
