long drive.600 plus miles each way..2 days 2 races (San Ant. rainout makeup race at Houston). TNT on Friday right out of gate bike goes 9.46 first pass on motor. played with rpm window switch and had too much nitrous coming in too fast...wheelied in 2 or 3 gears and had to lift...9.23 then slowed it down too much but it was controllable went 9.20..dam too soft. Wanted to play some more but I was trying to save clutches for 2 races in the 2 days, and I knew making nitrous passes wasn’t gonna help out.
Sat. #1 Qual if Super St class with 9.504. we had 20 bike in class, bike was dead on all night. last 5 bikes, bike breaks out running 9.488( .012 OMG )
ET class with like 100 bikes... again bike just dead on and its hot 90 and humid 100% and we had couple hour rain delay. Correct DA was 3700 feet most of day...crappy for sea level track! made it to finals in ET...got sandbagged by guy running 9.70 and dialed 9.90 on gsxr1k and he knew it...shut down at end and my bike freaking flew....course it was midnight.....on 9.50 dial..... How bout 9.33 ( don’t know where this came from) but fastest my bike has ever went on motor alone....picked bad time to go fast when I needed consistent... oh well.. nice little check and trophy.
Sun. again #1 in S/ST with 9.53. Ended up 3rd place & won little more money. Double break out his 9.45 to my 9.437( again .013)nice points weekend that should put me in points lead or right there for final race in month or so.
ET class made about 5 rounds till there were like 12 bikes left and broke out again 9.50 dial with 9.48 on brakes.
left 5:15 got gas. made it to I-10 and went 3 miles and dead stop traffic for bad wreck. 1 hour to go 3 miles...got some nice help coming home with some good front doors on highway...rolled to house at 2 a.m. was good time. I made like 16 passes on Saturday and that was with rain delay and only 1 qualifying session or it would have been 18 passes. Don’t even know how many I made on Sunday..
I cant remember mph on 9.33 pass, but I will scan slip 2morrow and post it up…but it was only like 146-147. best b4 this was 9.40@150 but this was in ultimate perfect conditions that have never happened again. I guess motor finally wanted to run.. normally first pass for me is in 60’s or high 50’s…then it comes down a little… hate that I had to loose in finals. but I guess ill take it anyway I can get it.
