05RedR1,

No offense, I'm not bashing you, I'm just saying R1's are performance oriented! I can't believe anyone would buy one and not cut loose. For Sabian to reply to me the way he did shows he's a self-righteous tool.
I know, and I agree. Buying one and never messing around on it would be like buying a 1000hp cigar boat to go fishing. I call anyone who claims to never have done something stupid on their R1 a liar. But some things are more stupid then other and running here was too stupid.

I'm glad that you've admitted to your mistake and learned from it. You may have gotten better initial responses if you had given all the details the first time around. If you have to go fast, like WAY over the speed limit, do it in a controlled environment, like a race track or drag strip. Yea, I've gone way too fast on the street. I did learn from my screwups and now I take to the track or strip.

Thanks for the constructive reply. Yea I live right next to a 1/4 mile track actually and it only costs 15 bucks to race all day so I hit that up quite often. Unfortunately I was on a cross state trip with like a 4 hour highway ride with a "bad influence" rider heh.... I think all of us know what happens when you try to take a long highway ride on your bike on some 2 lane highway... I swear I need a cruise control haha.

It's more the way you presented yourself in the first post that pissed people off. You got off easy, don't take it for granted.

I could stick a damn gsxr 1300 motor on a moped and it would outrun a patrol car...doesn't make it performance. Going fast on a stock bike running from cops means jack shit dude.

Well judging by post count of the two of you.... I would just like to say that MR. Sabian is a well respected member here and he blatently was telling the truth. I'm sure every member here has seen triple digits on a back road or has been guilty of opening it up out on a country road every now and then but most of the guys on here have seen so much sh!t in there history of riding that we all are getting tired of people raising the rates of insurance....being a big shot and then killing themselves, pissing off the cops, blah blah blah....there are a million ways that squids on their bikes now days keep giving the sport a horrible image.

There are guys on here that have been riding 2 to three times the years I have even been alive. And when they see posts like this they get sick of hearing us youngn's brag about crap that is pointless. The matter of fact is we all are sick of hearing this...Almost every time i get pulled over for whatever it may be on my bike I almost always get the hard up attitude from an officer because I'm young and on a sportbike...Not generalizing I have been pulled over also and have met some of the coolest cops period...some turned out to be riding buddies.

On a different note...running from the cops is fawking dumb...period. And I'm glad you realize that now...its not worth it! I'm glad you found that out and just move on and learn the lesson...we all have learned a lesson at some point in our lives...or at least most of us:)

Hell I thought I was king of the world till I started the track a few years ago... Then wham.. I realized I didn't know dick about PERFORMANCE. Go out and let them hang on the track...You will enjoy it a lot more!!!

Ok I'm done with my rant...keep it upright and ride safe!

Most of the time, if you just pull over and show a little respect and humility, the LEO will let you go with no more than a warning.

"I apologize, officer, I just got carried away there for a minute. It's easy to do on these things. I won't let it happen again."

I have gotten off scot-free the last 4 or 5 times I was pulled over by using a variation of that.

Most of the time, the guy starts shootin' the bull with me about the bike, fast cars, the last chase he was on, etc.

All these guys want is a little respect. The last guy told me he was glad to see that there were still a few folks left out there with integrity. (I turned around when he radared me and flagged me down.)

I am sure we all did (and some still doing stupid things) this is a community of people with a passion and if someone :bash you it's because they care, have passion and wants to protect our kind.

I agree, stop and be humble and not arrogant. Most of the time I get pulled of for a "random plate check" just so the guy can have a look at your baby and talk bike. It gets a bit annoying but it' good to have copper friends and this how we make friends.

So it seems like you learned your lesson. I ran once (or lets rather say I did not stop) but it was on a highway at 2:00 am ... and it did'nt take long to loose the cop. I felt like sh*t afterwards and now I believe there is a time and place for everything.

Live and learn, there is too many mistakes to make ourselves that is why we learn from each others.

There's always the "perfect citizen" haters that post up anytime running from the cops is mentioned. Don't worry about them, dude. They're mindless drones brainwashed by the propaganda of our socialist government. You learned from your mistake and have changed your ways. That makes you a good member of society in anyone's book.

Just because I enjoy my sportbike for what it is does not make me a pathetic excuse for a human being. You judging me for what you have done, at some time, as an R1 owner makes you hypocritical and pathetical.

Pathetical?

making up words are we?

Mr. Sabian? Respected member of this forum? Don't let Kmac or Shane or even little ole LP hear those words.

:lol :lol

:sneaky :hammer: OK

Are you sh****g me? Who the F**k buys a sportbike and doesn't disregard the speed limit at some time or another? I've wasted the hipos 3x's and if you can ride, it's no feat on a liter bike to beat a crown vic. I don't ride like a jackass through inhabited areas but on open roads, the police can suck a fart from my a**hole!
douche!

Congrats but unfortunately the pissed off PO's that put their lives at risk in pursuit will look at it as payback time for the next poor soul on a Sport Bike that is doing 5 over or somthing as trivial.
