I am rebuilding 07 R1 for the track only. Like most others, I am on a budget. I have approximately $2500 to work with. I am able to repair or salvage a lot of parts, but things that I MUST replace due to crash include:
Subframe, front stay, guages, lots of plastic (just getting race set), windshield, air ducts and a some other things.

I have stripped it to the bone, and here is the beginning of my laundry list. Any help welcome.

---In no particular order---
I have Akra slips, getting y pipe, PC.
Getting rear sets
Have BMC race filter
Need 520 conv.
Need tires (Dunlop 209s, power race?)
Planning on re-valving front forks (can't afford cartidges or new rear shock at this time (on to-do list))
Want to do pads/ rotors etc but can't afford all new setup
Damper..
Clip-ons..

ALL suggestions welcome.

Again, this is strictly a track bike, and ultimately a competitive race bike, no street. Just looking to get some insight from the veteran racers etc on the forum.

Anyone with parts that I may need, feel free to shoot me a PM. Eventually I will post another thread with all good parts I have to sell, and one for those that I need.

Thanks in advance.

Do you really need the exhaust and air filter? Are the stock ones damaged? Track is all about riding fast...not how fast the bike goes by hp alone. Suspension is where it's at and then time spent on the track.

In my opinion unless it's broke don't replace it. If you have not already taken a rider school, then I would recommend the $2500 be spent on:

Tire warmers
Stands
Tires
Roadrace school

You might have better luck in the Trackdays Forum. Would you like this thread moved?

Dan, if you would like to move it, that's fine! I have been to various track days etc, and super bike school is on the list. Tires and suspension are at the top of my list. Do I really need warmers for power races etc? Thanks for the help.

The stock ones are not damaged, in fact, they are brand new. I've had the BMC and akrapovic stuff on since I bought the bike. I am with you on the suspension though. I just figured the gutted y pipe would be an economical and smart buy.
