There's no definite answer, Stoltz.

Even Honda don't know for sure - hence their offering oil with and without moly...a friction modifier.

Generally you're safe using oils that don't contain friction modifiers like moly...

Oils with friction modifiers will generally make note of this on the side of the bottle.

Car oils with friction modifiers will say "energy conserving" somewhere on the bottle.

However, many people have used oil with moly and/or other friction modifiers, and experienced no problems.

Only way to find out for sure is to try it...

Selling full-synthetic at the shops I worked at never had an ill effect. I never sold Shell, but I can't imagine there being much difference between the Amsoil and like brands vs. Shell. I would not be afraid to use it.

I know for a fact that my bike when i went to use Motul full synthetic for the first time the first couple of hundred miles my clutch started to slip when i punched it just like a break in point depending what type of oil you use.

its all about the friction modifiers in a car it means nothing because the clutch isnt bathed in the engine oil...if you use it and want to be safe drain the oil and soak the clutch plates in atf and it will draw the oil from the plates, keep in mind this only works if the oil is fairly new usually but can stop the clutch from slipping

Mobil-1 ESP Formula (car oil) 3W-30: no clutch slip.
