Hey, since on my last post a lot of people said they had a hard time getting the fly wheel off to get to the stator. I want to go ahead and start trying and get it off before my new stator comes in. I think I remember reading on one of these threads that someone said to use a 3 inch pulley and that worked out well. Does anyone out there know what the right size pulley is or the best one to use. I have a friend that says he has quite a few pulleys and I am going to see if he has whatever size you guys recommend.

While you can try a 3 arm puller what you are suppose to use is the pusher bolt that screws into the rotor and pushes on the crank.

The problem you will have with a 3 arm is where to grab onto on the rotor.

Motion Pro actually makes a tool for this job. It's a single bolt that screws into the center of your stator and basically pushes it off. Sometimes, however, this does not work. When I removed mine, I had to use a 3-jaw puller. And even then it was a pain in the ass. That's about the hardest part about removing the stator. After it's out, just follow the wires, disconnect them and she's out.
