Can I firstly say that even tho' this is the BOTM thread and all entries should be :boobies I still wanted to show you mine. I've worked hard and put a lot of time and effort in to this bike, I appreciate that it does not hold a candle to some or most of the bikes in this thread but to me it's just 100% everything I could ever ask for.
I bought it 15mths ago after moving from a carb'd model, I don't have it full of Ti bolts and carbon bits and pieces, mainly cos I can't afford them but I have added some tasteful mods and have more to come yet.
The bike gets ridden hard on the track in all weathers, hense some of the parts not being in showroom condition. But it does exactly what it says on the tin.
So the mods to date.
Frame:
Full Virgin Yamaha British Superbike frame. This frame is fully braced both along the sides and across the headstock, it also encorporates an adjustable eccentric swingarm pivot and fully adjustable Harris subframe. ( With the original import document from Factory Yamaha to Virgin Racing )
Harris entended swingarm with full captive quick realease system.
Front End:
Harris triple clamps running 31mm offset encorporating adjustable / angled steering head bearings adjustable by 0.6' currently set to give a rake angle of 23.4'.
Ohlins FG43 R&T forks
PFM Cast Iron Superbike discs
PFM 6 pot Superbike Calipers
Hyperpro RCS Reactive steering Damper mounted on a Harris fitment
Brembo RCS 18*20 Master Cylinder
Pazzo Shorty Clutch Lever
Braided Lines
Dymag 16.5" Wheel Running Ntec Slick
Cockpit Area:
Harris fairing Bracket
Translogic Micro Dash
Domino Quick Action Throttle
Harris Fuel Cap
Rear End:
Ohlins Race shock
Brembo Underslung Caliper running braided line mounted on Harris Bracket
Brembo Master Cyl
Dymag 16.5" Wheel Running Ntec Slick
YEC Exhaust Hanger
Adjustable dogbone / shock linkage
Engine Bits and Pieces:
The engine is pretty well played with:
Dynamically Balanced Crank
ConRods Balanced and Radiused and matched as a set
Cylinder Block machined to obtain required squish
Piston squish and valve pockets machined to allow correct ptv
Cylinder head ported and skimmed
Kent YAM 11 cams running at 104' / 104'
Sigma Slipper Clutch running YEC clutch plates
NRC Generator Cover
I have a full set of REC flat faced inlet and exhaust valves and a full set of YEC inlet and exhaust valve springs still to fit. ( Winters Job )
I also have a YEC Race gearbox to fit yet.
Full Ti Akrapovic Exhaust sytem
Deep cored race radiator by Radtec UK
Light Weight Race Battery
Carbon Clutch Cover
The bike is running a set of throttle bodies modified to British Superbike specifications fitted to a Ram Air box with a BMC filter.
It is also running a YEC ECU and a Dynojet Powercommander professionally mapped by Race developments and is putting out 166BHP at the wheel with 80ft lbs torque.
All this gets shifted in to gear by a set of PHD rearsets and a Dynojet quickshifter. Running 520 race pitch 48 / 15 gearing with a 4 link longer chain.
I am hoping to get a set of 16.5" Carbon BST's over winter.
So enough words ...here's the pics..... lot's of them...
I hope you like what I've done to date, as I say I know it's not really BOTM material but what the hell I like it. :lol
