Are you associated with the ebay guy?

Again you are showing your ignorance since that is the Pista dash in the picture :shake
Just go away....you don't know what you are talking about with the YEC ECU
:lol:saw:

Ok guys I have a question..How hard is it to tune the YEC? I plan on picking one up, but was wondering how user friendly it is?
I would suggest leaving that to a reputable tuner who has experience with the yec to be able to get the most out of your setup. The only thing i change is level of engine braking depending on the track im riding at.

I have two Euro 07 r1s. One is a track bike fitted with "official" YEC kit wiring harness and ecu. The other 07 has the YEC flashed ecu and is used on the street.

I had originally bought the "official" YEC kit ecu (Fi software included in the package) for my street bike (I didn't have the track bike at this time). Being an European bike, the kit ecu wouldn't work with the standard wiring harness. I had to purchase the kit wiring harness to hook everything up.

My stock clocks read temp. instead of speed and the handlebar switch functions changed to cater for pit limiter etc. I also had to buy an interface lead that was supplied with a cd for the usb driver. The speed read-out could have been sorted out by using a GPS but to get headlights and tail light working, I needed yet another YEC sub harness. I could only run the bike during daylight and without the speedo....which I did!!

The overall cost was just getting too much for what I was trying to achieve....streetable YEC kit ecu powered R1, 100% de-restricted, 100% throttle, 1:1 throttle-throttle valve response ect. After posting here on the forum and explaining what I was trying to do....and getting hardly any information, I came across threads relating to the "YEC flashed" or "street version YEC ecu".

I eventually got some information with regard to obtaining the "YEC flash". I decided to chase up one of these flashed ecu for a small fraction of what I paid for the kit stuff. I was able to plug it up to my standard wiring harness and keep my speedo read-out on my standard clocks/instrument cluster. Tuning the ecu was done in the exact same way as the kit ecu.

I had been asked to sell off the YEC kit ecu, main wiring harness and interface lead, but I decided to keep it all...get another 07 and build a track bike. Now that I have both bikes running the same software/firmware and mods (both bikes are at the same developement stage), I can transfere settings from one bike to the other...no problems. For me, the YEC flash was much cheaper than the "official" kit and far less hastle to fit.

I thought I'd add my 2 cents worth here because I use both products...there's nothing that the YEC kit ecu can do, that the YEC flash can't do. To answer the original question about "YEC ECU-streetable or not?" The answer is "yes", it is very much streetable....but the cost is HUGE and all that hardware......

I would like to know one thing though....Why is this thread titled "YEC ECU-streetable or not? The final battle". I get the first part, but what's the "final battle" bit about?
