Hey Guys,

I have just acquired a classic 2000 R1.

The Carbs are GONE so i figured ill get the KEIHIN 41MM performance carbs since i am going to be making some performance modes to it.

but before moving forward, and considering the fact that THERE ARE NO DYNOs anywhere close to me, can someone please tell me if a brand new carb like such would require some tuning or it is basically PLUG n PLAY?

hope you would share your much respected opinions.

thanks.

Most likely you will need to tune the carbs to get the bike to run optimally. The 41mm flatslides give you an amazing boost of performance from the midrange on. Get it dialed in right and enjoy the ride.

maybe do what i did. someone previously deleted the exup from my collector pipe. i took the exup plate out and welded a o2 bung and bolted back on. run a lc-1 wideband. they are cheap and take the guess work out of a/f. took all of about an hr to install using the plate on the collector to drill and weld bung.

carbs

I have had three R1's with FCR carbs on them. The carbs come with 185 main jets from the factory. This main jet is about 90 percent correct as long as you are runnin ram air and a full exhaust system. You will notice an immediate difference.
