Yeah its a 4 speed. The bike is actually my uncles. Thing is a monster. lol Hasn't been ridden in a while as you can tell its seen better days. My aunt bought it for him years ago so he keeps it because his wife who passed away bought it for him. Ya know. Anyway its loud AF and takes a heavy leg to kick start.

you know what’s odd on it is the swing arm. The 82 had a regular swing arm and yours is like the original mono shock type that stopped on the 81 big bores.
‘Yeah all big 2 strokes had a very special technic to start. I had 2 yz’s a kx500 and cr500.

I would love to ride in that!!!! Grew up doing it in Central Massachusetts. Now in Florida and all I have is sand!!!

Very few things more fun than ripping a track on a 2 Stroke. 1st Dirt Bike I was 5 (I will dig some pics out soon for the hell of it ....raced from 5 until early 20's. Dad and Uncle both raced motocross early 80's. Wouldn't trade it for the world.

2022 yz250x is in my possession! Last 2stroke was my 99 RM250 I got in 2005 rode till 2007. Then I went four strokes and I can not tell you how excited I am to ride this thing! 2016 I rode all the KTM and yamaha 2strokes at the dealership I worked at in SoCal but now I have this yz back here in Pennsylvania. I feel like a kid getting his first bike!

Ok well behind the rear tire of the YZ is a cooking bowl I stress ate Cap’n Crunch out of at 2am the night before I went to get the bike worried it would get bought out before I got there.

I went from that 2stroke RM to a 2007 crf250r and rode that four stroke like a 2stroke basically from muscle memory and kept the revs up and stayed on my toes then I got a 2008 crf450r and got lazy lug sit down slower on a faster bike. I currently have a 2005 Crf450x and a TW 200 so this yz is the third dirt bike in the stable. Ready to get that on the toes riding style going again after many years of being lazy with big four strokes.
