Has anyone hooked up and mounted a wideband 02 to street tune their bike? Back when I tuned cars I could do a good street tune using the 5v output from the wideband. But the tuning software I used was able to record the AFR's at the throttle position and rpm points I was hitting through the OBD2 port and 5v reference from the wideband. Then I would take that and modify and blend the fuel maps. Is there any software or way of recording what's going on inside the ecu like this? Getting the interface either way, just wondering. Question though. The numbers inside the map are the actual percentage that the throttle is actually open from the throttle by wire setup? Going off of the two pics on page one. Asking because I'm just used to the numbers being percentage of volumetric efficiency.
I never did see this question get answered. Anyone?

im all for getting everything you can out of the bike & not cutting corners but that seems overkill & unecessary for F-T especially street riding..

if it was that big of a deal get an auto-tune which would like cost less including wideband + hours in + cut up & sore fingers.. in my op

How do you know the changes you're making on the F-T are helping / aren't on the limits of hurting the motor? SOTP? I really don't see why you'd want to get an F-T without one. If you're not into tuning the F-T yourself then just send your ECU out and have someone flash it. This thread seems to be more for the DIY type and IMO a WB is a requirement.

If you want to say FT is unnecessary then why even get auto-tune for street. In stock form the R1 has plenty of power. People like to mod and they like have options. I got FT because you can get rid of of the ycct restrictions and control the fan on and off. The old flash-tune interface did not require you to have it mounted to the bike and there was not wire tapping into.

thank you christ.. its simple if you want to do something like that add a wieband.. by all means go for it have fun, does not make it any more or less necessary than before..

explain again how a F-T can harm a motor in any way..? since wen is running relatively balanced AF ratios a bad thing / harmful ~ wheres this even coming from jfish..

I have modified the 91 pump ftm file for my 2008 R1 .
The problem I am facing after loadind this my idle rpm goes down to 1000-900 which causes stalling sometime.
When engine is cold it idles at 1200 once warm above 75dec C the above problem starts

If i load default 91 pump ftm idle is steady at 1200.
can some one suggest what parameters to change so I have a steady idle at 1200.

Which FT version are you using?

I wasn't aware at the time that the Bazzaz Z-AFM kit was a wideband and I've since picked one up as well as a flash from SBK. You could easily harm a motor if you don't know what you're doing with the F-T.

software development 2.0.0.11
and hardware YAMAHA TYPE 1.2.6

another problem i am facing is connection issues between ft and ecu.
when flashing when half way done i get error 30 or error 37 .
this happens 80% of the times.
error 37 comes when green bar progress takes place (writing ecu) . any were from 10% to 90% progress
any one facing this problem
I have been able to get a new map with a decent idle. Tad on the forum said to copy the 09 plus idle settings into the 07 to 08 maps but I have hot around to mess with it.

Is there anyone within a few hours of St Louis that would be open to flashing my bike sometime soon? I'd pay of course, wouldn't ask for your time without compensation.

Just PM me if you are willing, don't want to threadjack!

What new features are you referring to?

Need some opinions on what to do with my tune. I ended up going the SBU route. Service was fast and awesome, got my ECU back with their race tune and the bike felt completely different, much more beastly. I was having trouble getting back on the throttle though, but I attributed it to the newness feeling. After things became normal feeling again I still had trouble getting back on the gas, like learning to drive a car with a clutch for the first time lol...

A local shop was having a dyno special, so I threw her on to see what she'd do and found out my fuel is all over the place, and very rich.

Numbers also seem low but I don't care about that as much as I do the fuel as I believe it explains my difficulties. Truth is they'd be higher if it leaned out. I didn't have smog blockoffs at the time of this dyno either, so this is probably reading leaner than reality (wideband was in the stock o2 bung, o2 disabled in the tune).

I have a Graves 3/4 and a BMC filter, that's it haha. Oh and smog block off if you want to count that? Left the exup alone on the tune, did all the restriction removals, etc. Pretty basic, but the tune is way off. I know you can't fine tune fuel in the mail, but what should I ask for on a reflash? Should I go back to stock map??

Hi guys its my first post on here. We are a dyno centre in the UK and are just starting to use flash tune. We have been flashing suzuki's for a while now with other software and are just getting to grips with FT. Most of it looks straight forward but anyone used these functions and know what they do ? Not had chance to try either yet

ETV bypass FI limit
ETV use in gear idle

I have a R1 4c8 myself which i intend building FT maps for, here it is on the dyno yesterday
