So i blew my fork seals. preveouse owner let bike sit for 2 years. i got the bike and started riding it like i should. minus the wheelies at 130+ long story short, blown fork seals. have seals and dust seals in hand. pulled bolth forks, fork #1, undid the top half. drained oil. the guts wont come out. flipped fork, tried removing the bolt (on the very bottom of the fork) thinking it was securing my valving and springs and what not. i turned it for about a good 10 minutes. it never came out or showed progress of coming out. is it a fixed bolt? why cant i get the shock apart? i cant even remeove the spring and what not. why is it still stuck in??? fork #2, left on the bike. went straigh for the bolt on the bottom. again turned for way too long. it wont come out. forks are stock and un touched (as far as i know) need answers ASAP as i will be back at this tomorrow morning.

P.S, first time doing suspension work myself. always had mechanics do my bike work back in racing days.

thats the thing everything is a basic bolt and what not. there is only one little part i cant get undone but that is on the side of the lower portion of the fork, and its just a whole with 4 notches almost like a phillips screw driver. if thats the case then that is the only thing i would need. and i could probly find a way to make one.

ya i didnt know better so i did a full drain on the first fork and now the bolt free spins. fork #2 i didnt know i released the pressure from the top cap already and it is also free spinning. so at least nothing is messed up right? i just need to make the tool or borrow one from a local shop

good news i finished the swap with out the special tool. did some research. and the bolt on the bottom is a free spinning bolt so i just bound up the spring by pushing on it a little after the for was drained and used a air gun and got both forks apart and back together. so its a success and it IS possible with out the special tool
