went to deals gap rode all over --was real nice bike handles like a dream--basically a friend noticed what he thought was antifreeze on the right side of my motor-we actually didn't know it kinda looked like road grime to me and another guy i was riding with--was going 30-35 down a straight rode to go get something to eat- bike just flipped over on the left side --antifreeze all over the back tire---ive been riding big bikes for 20+ years and raced CMRA CCS and WERA --nothing doing--I actually thought i saved it and then the bike just slammed me--not much damage to bike --I had a third degree seperation of the collarbone--I was wearing full race leathers helmet gloves boots--no skin rash on me---Yamaha deler has the bike and has determined its a manufacturer fault --looks as if a gasket was bad--been through so many new bikes and this has never happened before---I just cant wait to get back on an 09 again --it sucks that the weather is finely getting perfect for riding and I have to ride the Busa, Concours, or zx14---!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

looking at the picture it looks as if the front fenderis scraped--thatt is a reflection--only damage waws the side engine cover the left fairing a very small piece in the curve under the mirror of the nose fairing and slight scratches to the skirt on the muffler---the bike has no other damages the bike took a good fall and came out pretty much unscaved--I rode home on the bike from NC to Louisiana (with a seperated shoulder) and keeping close eye on the coolant level---bike road home fine___
Not again man, yesterday i read about a 09 owner, who had the same damage, but thank god neither of you hurt himshelf. I wish quick heal for your bike and your confidence:thumbup
Not that much damage but not good to hear about the shoulder. Hope that Yamaha takes care of you for the faulty issue. Keep us posted!
gald ur ok mang...... this is the third post about 09's crash this week. but ur's was a manufacturer fault.
stay up man.. just layed my down on the other side at the track.. didnt get to much damage but did crack the case.. 80 bucks..but as for the fairing//paint is gonna suck!! i did get messed up as well check out my thread http://www.r1-forum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=258651
Man this sucks! Our bikes look about the same.
I was so sick to my stomach cuz of all this I couldn't even look at my bike much, but when I get back to my friends where the bike is I will be giving that tire a hard over!

What's the body count now on 09's? I've seen at least 3 posts, at least no-one seriously hurt.
alot of people doubt the seriousness of antifreeze on your tire. You can be a stellar rider but that shit puts you down quick.
