02 Silver R1, front lowering straps and rear lowering link. No other mods done to the bike. My best 1/4 so far is 10.20. Still having problems keeping the front end down. Looking at getting swingarm extensions this year.

I have problems with my front end also, 1st gear is all on one wheel

6.98 in the 1/8. That was the only time I droped under 7. My bike is an '03 with a Micron slip on and a P.C. III. Its not lowered but I went down a tooth in the front sprocket. First gear is the whole trick to my time.
I have to have my head over the front tire to help keep the front tire domn. After first gear its on. It might come up a lil in second but nothing to worry about.

He say he has an R6 running 6.57. Yet he didnt say what mods hes done to it. One, his bike is lowered, stretched and tricked out. Or two, he's full of crap.

Damn, I only pull 13.3 throught the quarter:lol Then again, I can't rip it off the line or else my tire disintegrates in smoke. I need to do some bracket racing and get some money....LOL Stock bike (approx. 660 lbs wet) no mods = 13.3.......I guess not too bad for a land barge:lol

B.S.?????

I hate it for the ones that dont believe that bike is capable of running that kind of times. He is correct on the ama prostar time too. Ryan Schnitz ran a 9.66 @ 140 (1.44 60ft) with a kawi 636 with 118 rear wheel hp. Given it is Ryan Schnitz also. Ive seen the R6 in question and i know what the quick little bastard runs. He gives alot of big bikes hell at the track and on the street around here. It is just funny when people see that someone on a little R6 is running faster than what their bigger R1 is running, they get mad and say it isnt possible. :lol Obviously they just need to spend a little less time calling B.S. and more time at the track trying to beat that little R6. :eek:wwn3d

i have seen a stock 636 lowered with nutec and 100lb rider run 10.00 stock pipe, bone stock as the bikes were only out like 2 weeks when he ran it. so a 10.36 is possible, but u must remember we have a lot of internet drag racing b.s. all over place. thats at sea level in houston on a nice cool day. where i live i ran an r6 with slip-on @ 5000 ft elevation and it ran 11.12@124. corrected should be mid 10 sec pass, but i dont correct anything...i run whats on time slip... no excuses about elevation. i'll bet u $1000 u cant run a 10.50 on a stock pipe r6, justed geared at my track. and remember that 600ss class bikes are gone through in every aspect. a bone stock 600ss motor might cost $5k to build. ceramic bearings. balanced, cams degrees, chassis setup unbelivable perfect.... a 600ss bike is not a bike right off showroom floor. most of top guys have big $$$ in there bikes. so yea 600ss bikes run 9.70's. or faster.

My 636 will run high 9's.
It is stock with a graves slip on off of my R1 .
It is also lowered . I went a 1.55 sixty foot time on it .
I could lower it more but I ride it on the street all the time.
It is my daily rider .

Just curious, what part of texas do you live in? Im wondering the elevation difference. The bike has more done to it than 1 tooth dropped on the front. Power commander, slide stops, velocity stacks, k&n, 520 chain conversion, and it is slammed. It does have a completely stock exhaust though and the stock arm on it also. He has only made 3 passed on it since all the mods were done so times will get better as he gets more familiar with it. (best being the 10.38) Oh yeah and he weighs 135 to 140, not 100lbs

im from west texas. real elevation is like 3800 ft. correct elevation is normally 5500-6000 ft. the air sucks here. heres a good guess. what u run at sea level track...add about .4-.5 sec on it. i dont doubt the 600 class bikes.. they haul the mail...just not at my track... thats why i drive 10 hours one way to race in houston. im a light guy and very agressive drag racer and i have yet to make a 600 run a 10.anything here, but its spring time and air is not bad.. i have a buds R6 (2002) that i have put high compression head gasket, intake cam, pipe, jet kit, 520 conv, marvic wheels.... it should get there when track opens in a few weeks.

You must not have read the rule book to understand what they can do either... Lightened gears, clutches, polished heads, many other things...

What was your mph on your 10.38 run???
