Just got off the phone with Yamaha Corporate (USA) at
(714)761-7300 like 10 minutes ago. Called to see if there was any more update on this so-called 10 day delay due to paperwork. Guess Yamaha does not concern itself with updating information regarding customer concerns or questions seeing as the rep on the phone gave me the same song and dance that dealers and customers have been getting for the last two or three weeks. They are still saying that there is a 10 day delay. Specifically asked the rep and her supervisor what this ten day delay actually means seeing that they started spitting out this story almost 2-3 weeks ago. They could not even tell me when this 10 day delay started or when it should be over so that bikes begin shipping again. Went even as far as telling the reps that we have been hearing this story for over two weeks now and that 14 is more than 10. She just laughed and said that even though it has been 14 days or more - all she knows is that they were told a 10 day delay due to paperwork problems with the importing of the R1's. My dealer told me to expect it the first or second week of April, but I will just plan on getting it sometime closer to May. Just sad that a multi billion dollar company cares so little about it's customers that they cannot even tell the truth or at least put as much effort forward as possible to fulfill customer expectations.
