2004-2006 R1 1/4 Mile Times. What can I expect??

Just sold the 02 I had for 3 years. Drag raced it a bunch of times. Probebly logged a good ~30 or so passes on it. Best time was 10.37 @ 134. Had a whole bunch of 10.40-10.60 passes as well.
Modifications were
-Lowered and strapped
-Akropovic Slip-on
-Pilot Powers.

As far as power/traction, thats all I had. I considered those times to be pretty good for that make/model/year....

Now the questions.
1) Is the horsepower the same for 04-06?
2) Anything "better" happening for 2007
3) What times can I expect out of an 04-06

If anybody could please post their mods/times, that would be cool

Lastly, If I bought an 06, and put on slip-ons, lowered it, strapped it and had a PCIII, would I break into 9 seconds provided I can ride it, or am I still stuck in the low 10 second range.....

my 04 stock..well lowered and stretched..but stock pipes and stock motor... was about .3-.4 faster than my 00 that was lowered, headwork, pipe, jet kit, airbox mod, yosh cams...well u get idea but 00 was stock wheelbase. biggest difference in lack of low end power on newer models and need to regear them. they dont 60 ft as good and when power comes on at 8k..then tend to wheelie..strapping and lowering helps. if you can ride, then i would say you should expect 9 sec runs after you get it figured out. also clutches are weaker in 04.. no hot lapping. make a pass and let it cool for 15-20 mins...or you will be buying alot of steel plates as they tend to warp.. they are cheap and i keep couple spare sets as they are like $1.80 a piece compared to $7 a piece for earlier year model R1's.

my 00 at high altitude made 131hp with all mods and my 04 made 149 bone stock on same dyno. we dont know what to expect with 07 as it should be released in early to mid sept.

my 04 runs 9.50-9.60s all day long. in 107 degree heat it ran 9.67 and had it not rained it would have prolly made it little faster. my 1st pass is always slower for some reason. this is with bike stretched and lowered with my light weight azz on it.

I think he is talking 9.5-9.6 on the motor the 217 in his sig is on the bottle. I thought he runs low 9's on the bottle not sure though.

I definatly think high 9's are possible if you can ride.

That's my biggest problem not enough seat time.:(

on my '05 R1 last year....

bone stock I went 10.20x

bone stock with just a strapped front end I went 9.88

when I say stock, I mean stock right down to the factory paper air filter.

I ate a lot of clutches last year. this year I've not made it to the track very often, and have been leaving the line fairly easy. typically this year I run 10.0-10.20 with only the front strapped and leaving pretty easy (1.80-1.85 60'). I can't afford the clutches anymore!!!!

the bike has run the same mph since I got it. it will run 142-144mph all day long. and it's seen 146-147 a few times, maybe nice DA and a little tail wind (don't recall).

oh, and I am a pretty light rider at ~155lbs without gear.

R105, do you run at New England Dragway?? In Epping??

9.88 bone stock is pretty good. That tells me that lowered, strapped, and exhaust/PCII I should be there..

THanks for the info.

yes, NED is where I race! http://ne13.com/ned/0511DSC_4922.jpg

do you go to NED as well?

as for your first two questions, I think the power for 04-05 was identical, and in '06 they changed the head slightly to gain a couple ponnies up top, but it wasn't anything that significant at all. rumors of an all new engine for the '07 model are around. but I haven't heard anything solid myself.

my bike is stock motor and exhaust. its stretches and has wet nitrous kit on it and with progressive controller. sorry for confusion, but yes the 9.50 and 60 is on motor. On nitrous hanging up in 4th or 5th gear at end of track it went 9.16.. bike made 148 on motor and 217 on nitrous. i just installed new window switch for nitrous to help with the bike to shift in higher gears on nitrous( bike doesnt like to shift high gears under heavey nitrous load) Ill hopefullt get to find out what it will do on 27th of this month. it should be in 9.0's in heat and maybe 8's in spring/fall cooler weather.

dyno run(on this dyno it made 146 on motor) this is with nitrous controller set at 60%.. its jetted for 100 hp. with 60% should be technically 60 hp, but on dyno it made 71.. so its close.
