Manual says Yamaha Suspension Oil 01.

Just found this thread, in which the guy says it's 2.5w, and he says he was happy with the results.

But then, I just found a link to a thread on Thumper Talk where they say something different.

So, which is accurate?

 

Now I'm really confused - this link from the Yamaha parts site says it's 0w.

So, Dan, what differences did you notice with the 5w when compared to stock?

 

It's all I've used on the valves I have. All my forks (except the VMax) have Race Tech valves. But everything I have been told is 01 is 5 wt.

 

What brand do you use?

 

Went with Silkolene 5w last week for the first time. 5w is just inline with stock fluid based on the adjustments.
But for the rear shock I'll go with something heavier 7.5 or 10 since I have it tighten up all the way for rebound and i think it is still too loose.
I got 20K on the 08.

A buddy of mine told me today that he's pretty sure the Yamaha Suspension Oil 01 is 5w.

 

I got my forks uprated by Maxton they recomend sae 5 and it seems spot on to me.
