Hey guys, so I am new to the forum and new to r1's. I have been riding zx and gsxr all my riding years and I've run into a problem I've never seen before and looking for some help. I'm trying to change my sprockets on my 07 r1 but I can't remove the sprocket cover because the shift rod is in the way. I've already removed the who free rod from the actual shifting mechanism but the rod is still in the way. How on earth do I get the cover off? I know this is a dumb question and I've been searching all day and can't find it. Please don't roast me too bad. Just looking for an answer. Thanks

haha I feel your pain. When I went from my 05 R6 to a 05 R1 I was very disappointed in the locations of many things. I thought liter bikes would even be more accessible since its the true motogp racing class..
The oil filter, front sprocket, and coolant reservoir are a bitch to get to. I got custom rearsets that make it super easy to get to my front sprocket now, but the rest there is no fix.

How are the new 2015+ R1's setup?
